Qualities of “evidence”Evidence needs to be:• Explained• Authentic • Provable• Current• Relevant• Up-loadable or available via url

The evidence you choose, and the way you present it, is personalised. It reflects your work as an HDR Supervisor, and your approach to that work. No two people will present the same evidence, or the same explanation.

Examples of new skills for HDR Supervision:

Candidature management; thesis writing; data analysis; project management; learning analytics; impact mapping; editing; identifying cheating and fraud; document handling & version management; cloud-based computing; digitization; managing copyright; supervising via Skype; using social media; evaluating your HDR Supervision; and so on.

Examples of evidence:

• Transcripts from completed short courses• Reflective report• Ppt presentation• Blog entry• Screen shots with explanation• Examples of work• Award• Visual essay• Summary of evaluation with examples

Examples of new knowledge for HDR Supervision:

Publications related in some way to HDR Supervision; Scholarship completed to meet the challenges of a candidate’s research question or methodology; Research about the practice of HDR Supervision; Presentations to peers about some aspect of HDR supervision; and so on.

Examples of new experiences for HDR Supervision:For the first time you: supervised to completion; supervised MRes; resolved a candidacy problem; rescued a supervisory catastrophe; provided appropriate support for a distressed candidate; co-published with a candidate; mentored a junior supervisor; identified and managed candidacy plagiarism or fraud; used Open Education Resources for self-development; participated in a tweet-up; facilitated a workshop on HDR Supervision; solved an HDR problem; applied for an award; and so on.
