Overview

TRUSTKEY’s security key is a FIDO2 certified authenticator designed based on TRUSTKEY’s powerful microprocessor MS500.

TRUSTKEY’s security key supports the new FIDO2 and U2F standard so that one can enjoy the benefit of fast login with a strong protection against phishing, account takeover and many other online attacks.

For the first time TRUSTKEY’s security key user, you need to run TrustKey Key Manager™ application toenroll PIN Code on the key. You can downloadthe application from our website:

Install Key Manager™

1. Make sure that Key Manager™ applicationis downloaded on your PC/Mac.

2. Launch the Key Manager™ application. Ifyou see the following screen, plug yourTRUSTKEY’s security key into the USB porton your PC/Mac.

How to Create New PIN

1. Insert a TrustKey into USB port. If this is your first time using the key, you’ll need to create PIN.

2. Enter PIN and Confirm PIN.(PIN must be at least 4 characters long)

3. Click SAVE.

How to Change PIN

1. Click CHANGE PIN.

2. Enter the Current PIN, PIN (new PIN) and Confirm PIN. Click SAVE.

How to Factory Reset a Key

1. Click FACTORY RESET. This will reset PIN, enrolled fingerprints, for G-series keys, and OTP accounts.

2. Click PROCEED.

3. Remove your security key from USB Port.

4. Re-insert the security key.

5. Touch the sensor to complete the reset process.


WARNING : After re-inserting the security key, make sure to touch the touch sensor within 10 seconds to continue “FACTORY RESET” process. Otherwise, repeat the whole procedure from the beginning.

How to Enroll Fingerprints

Key Manager takes advantage of fingerprint enrollment features available from Windows 10 and Google Chrome. There are three (3) options to enroll fingerprint on TrustKey’s biometric keys:

Option 1: In Windows 10 1903 or later version, you can use Windows -> Settings -> Sign-in options -> Security Key to configure your security key. You can open directly from Chrome / Edge / Firefox by typing in the URL ms-settings:signinoptions-launchsecuritykeyenrollment.

Option 2: In Google Chrome on MacOS / Linux Chrome OS, you can use Chrome Manage security keys feature to configure your key. You can open directly from Chrome / Edge / Firefox by typing in the URL chrome://settings/securityKeys

Option 3: You can download TrustKey's BioManager™ to configure your key. You can download TrustKey BioManager™ Installation Software and get TrustKey BioManager™Manual to configure the key.

Option 1: You can use Key Manager to open Windows fingerprint enrollment window. From Key Manager, click on fingerprint icon to open Windows Sign-in options screen.

Option 2: You can use Key Manager running on MacOS / Linux to open Google Chrome fingerprint enrollment window. From Key Manager, click on fingerprint icon to open Chrome’s Manage security keys page.

Option 3: You can download TrustKey's BioManager™ to enroll fingerprint to your key. You can download TrustKey BioManager™Installation Software and get TrustKey BioManager™ Manual to configure the key.

TrustKey FIDO Security Keys OTP Accounts

TrustKey FIDO security key (both G-series and T-series keys) can store OTP accounts. You can store max of 50 OTP accounts – max of two (2) HOPT accounts or max of 50 TOTP accounts or combination of HOTP and TOTP accounts adding up to 50 accounts.

How to Setup TOTP Slot

TrustKey FIDO security key (both G-series and T-series keys) provides up to 50 slots for TOTP configuration. There are two ways to configure a slot to save a Secret Key into the key. The application can automatically scan QR code if it is completely visible on the screen, or Secret Key can be entered manually.

1. Click on HOME icon.

3. Give it a name and select TOTP from the Typedropdown.

3. You can either click on SCAN to scan QR Code on the screen or enter TOTP secret key manually.

4. If you have QR code given by the server, open the code and press SCAN.

How to Delete TOTP Slot

1. Click on vertical 3-dots and select Delete

How to Setup HOTP Slot

TrustKey FIDO security key (both G-series and T-series keys) provides two slots for HOTP configuration – Short Touch and Long Touch. There are two ways to configure a slot to save a Secret Key into the key. The application can automatically scan QR code if it is completely visible on the screen, or Secret Key can be entered manually.

This feature is only available for T-series keys,T110 and T120. Depending on which slot HOTP is configured, either a Long Touch or Short Touch, you can generate OTP value directly on the text field by touching the key. Short Touch requires one second touch and Long Touch requires two (2) seconds.

3. HOTP output generation can be done by either short touch or long touch of the key by Configuring Touch For Short Touch, select the account under Short Touch dropdown. For Long Touch, select the account under Long Touch dropdown.

Windows 10Security Key Manager

TRUSTKEY’s security key can be set up from systems settings panel on computers running on Windows 10 insider preview build 18298 [19H1] or above. In sign-in settings/ Security Key, Fingerprints and PIN can be managed (add/delete) and the security key can be reset to factory setting if necessary.
