InstallationeWCoveECPowercoreoffershigh-output,energy-efficientindoorsolidwhitealcovelightingwithPowercoretechnology.Powercore,whichdeliverslinevoltagedirectlytothefixture,easesinstallationbyeliminatingtheneedforexternalpowersuppliesorspecialwiring.

Owner / User ResponsibilitiesItistheresponsibilityofthecontractor,installer,purchaser,owner,andusertoinstall,maintain,andoperateeWCoveECPowercorefixturesinsuchamannerastocomplywithallapplicablecodes,stateandlocallaws,ordinances,andregulations.Consultwiththeappropriateelectricalinspectortoensurecompliance.

Create a Layout Plan Regardlessofthesizeandcomplexityofyourinstallation,thetimeyouspendupfrontcanhelpminimizeinstallationandconfigurationissueslater.Keepthesesuggestionsinmindasyouplanyourinstallation:

1. Onanarchitecturaldiagramorotherdiagramthatshowsthephysicallayoutoftheinstallation,createalayoutmapthatspecifiestheappropriatelocationofthelightfixturesinrelationtoeachother,andtoanydimmerswitches,wallswitches,andlinepowersources.Identifyanyobstaclesorphysicalfeaturesrequiringflexiblejumpercablesbetweenfixtures.

2. Usingthefixture’spowerconsumptionandefficiencyratings,thelightingdesignerorarchitectshouldcalculatethecovedimensionstoensurethatoperatingtemperaturesremainwithinsafelevels.Thedesignerorarchitectshouldalsodeterminethecove’sfasciadesignandfixturesetbackbasedonthecovedimensionsandroomwidth.Forconsistentresults,thecovewidthandheightshouldaccommodatethefixtures’minimummixingdistances.Westronglyrecommendcreatingdimensionalmodelsandmockupspriortoinstallation.

3. eWCoveECPowercorefixturesareinstalledinseries.Thein-lineconnectorsallowend-to-endfixtureconnectionsforthebestvisualeffects.Wheninstallingfixturesend-to-end,allowaminimumdistanceof.125in(3mm)betweenfixtures,andamaximumdistanceof.625in(16mm).Formorespacingbetweenfixtures,usethe1ft(305mm)or5ft(1.5m)jumpercables.

4. YoucaninstallarunofeWCoveECPowercorefixturesusingthe10ft(3m)LeaderCablewithflyingleads.Thisoptionispreferablewhenconnectingtoathird-partyjunctionbox,orwhenretrofittinganexistingincandescentorfluorescentcovelightinginstallation.

InNorthAmerica,youcanusetheWiringCompartmentwhenyouwanttorunbranchconduitallthewaytothefirstfixtureinaseries,orwherelocalcodesrequireit.Youcanalsocreateaportableinstallationbyusingthe8ft(2.4m)LeaderCablewithplug.

Install the FixturesYoucanmounteWCoveECPowercorefixturesdirectlytoawall,ceiling,cabinet,orothersecuresurface.YoucaninstallseveraleWCoveECPowercorefixturesinoptional4ft(1.2m)lengthsofmountingtracktoensureastraightrun.

(Optional) Install Mounting Tracks1. Field-cutthemountingtrackstothedesiredlengthwithahacksawortinsnips.

2. Installthemountingtracksusinghardwaresuitableforthemountingsurface.

Toensureproperfixturefit,hardwaremustnotextendabovethetrackstandoffsafterinstallation.Therecommendedmaximumspacingbetweenscrewsis12in(305mm).

1. RotateaneWCoveECPowercorefixtureasnecessarytoprovideunobstructedaccesstothemountingholes.

2. Positionthefirstfixtureinaseries.

Ifusingmountingtracksonahorizontalsurface,snapthefixtureintothetrack.

Ifusingmountingtracksonverticaloroverheadsurfaces,orifnotusingmountingtracks,attachthefixturewithfour#6(3.5mm)mountingscrews(notincluded)suitableforthemountingsurface.

EnsurethatthemaleconnectorisinpositiontoreceivepowerfromthefemaleconnectorontheLeaderCableorWiringCompartment.

3. Positionthenextfixtureintheseries,matchingthemaleconnectorendtothefemaleconnectorofthepreviouslymountedfixture.Attachthefixturetothesurfaceorsnapitintothetrack.

4. Continuemountingthefixtures,makingpowerconnectionsasyougo,untilalllightsintheseriesaremounted.

5.Inserttheprovidedterminatorintothelastfixtureintheseries.

6. Makepowerconnections.
