How did you attract/address your audience?
A small blurb is a reader’s digest
version of the article, people will know if
they want to read the article, if they are
interested
In established magazines certain
articles can interest people, e.g. they
might always read the ‘what’s hot’
section
Quotes also help to sell the article to the readers, people will
be interested more in what the person has
to say than the author of the article
The person featured, fans will instantly be drawn to the product. The person featured is a big selling point for magazines, which is why you get lots of famous people and not people who people won’t recognise
The person featured’s name, people (and especially fans) will instantly be drawn and informed about the issue
How did you attract/address your audience?
References are made to people like Tim
McGraw & Def Leppard,
subsequently fans of those artists could be attracted to the artist
and the article and therefore attracted
to the magazine itself
Advertising – in this article many
references to the artist’s products are
used (tour, songs, albums etc.) making
reference to things could jog the
memory of some people who then
become interested
Lengthy article = lots of information to gather interest, fans particularly would love long articles
Lots of pictures would also attract an audience, especially as the photos are supposedly like behind the scenes photos because they are personal photos rather than released photos from shoots, exclusive photos can also be a good selling point for a magazine, like a USP in the business world
