In the beginning, there was no matter, energy or laws of nature.

Then there was what appears to be a rapid expansion or explosion of matter and energy from one point creating the whole universe

The design of the Laws of the Universe imply a DESIGNER.

But we cannot directly see or touch this non material being so direct scientific observation is beyond the scientific method.

but where did this being come from?

If the Being is not running down – the Being does NOT NEED a beginning like the universe does. The Being can be eternal.

SOMETHING has to be eternal and it makes more sense that the first cause of everything is not physical because everything physical runs down. The universe can’t make itself.

The problem of evilIf God is all powerful and all loving and good,

why is there evil. Either He is not all powerful or He is not all loving and good.

This argument assumes God must prevent or deal with evil instantly. It does not consider free will. Without free will there is no real love. So to create creatures with the capacity for love, God allowed for the possibility of evil. He is patiently waiting to judge evil to give us time to find forgiveness for OUR evil (lack of love) and love.
