ObjectivesIncrease multidisciplinary staff knowledge and application of research-based clinical evidence to improve patient care and clinical outcomes
Deliver easily accessible research-based evidence to the clinical setting
Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria
Multidisciplinary Duke Heart Center staff members
Staff nurses, physicians, clinical pharmacists, physician extenders
Convenience sample, 120 subjects
Completion of pre-test conveys consent to participate
Exclusion criteria: Staff unwillingness to participate, inability to complete study questionnaires
Intervention“Did You Know” Campaign
Multidisciplinary intervention to bring current research–based evidence to the bedside
Enhance knowledge of 20 critical practice issues
Methods: lapel buttons, bulletin board posters, web-based info packs, written flyers, review of material during patient care rounds
Endpoints
Pre-test, 4 week intervention period, followed by post-test evaluation
Long term continuation approved if data suggests intervention is successful
