Finding & Resolving Pain Points
Look for steady growth vs growth spurts – a spike can be due to an engagement activity. The more you
track the activities that cause spikes, you can repeat them to grow your network
Get your top management on board
Make Yammer a knowledge resource
Develop Yammer into a necessary place to go to complete a project or talk with the rest of the team
Find active groups and try to replicate what works to improve struggling groups
Remember, try to avoid from deleting anything unless it’s clearly against your usage policy
Encourage taking meeting minutes through Yammer and invite others to collaborate on the note
Announcements
Only Admins can make announcements
Users will receive an email when there’s an
announcement
Group Best Practices
Create a group structure that follows your overall strategy
Create “verified” groups but also encourage other group creation
Assign executive sponsorship and at least 1 community manager per group
to moderate and encourage group participation
Try not to over moderate – let natural growth happen
Integrations
SharePoint (Yammer embedded feeds)
Directory Sync
