ANZAC DAY CEREMONY Each year our classes have an explicit focus on ANZAC Day, participating in tasks that allow knowledge to build about this important event in Australian History but also to reflect on how fortunate we are to live in a country of peace and wealth. This focus culminates in a formal ANZAC Ceremony which is largely facilitated by our School Captains. At 2.00pm, after our tribute to Gail , the ceremony will commence, finishing with the laying of a wreath at our ANZAC bollard. WOW! Congratulations to our community on raising a whopping $2073.05 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal. This is a fabulous representation of our community spirit and goes towards such an important cause. Special thanks to Jessica Bailey who initiated and coordinated the event. Great effort by everyone. Our Facebook Page and official parent photographer In liaison with our PFA, a new GK facebook page has been created. The fundamental intent behind this page is for our school community to share positive information about upcoming events or communicate needs that occur. This is a ‘closed group’ which means you must request to be added as a member of the group. Natasha Warrington, a member of PFA, is overseeing this process and comments that appear. This page is not the place to share negativity or problems and Natasha ensures that our page remains free of this. Natasha has also volunteered to be our ‘school photographer’. You may have already seen her at the Prep BBQ and House Sports Day, taking beautiful snaps. Some of these may be posted on our website, in the linkletter or appear in our digital portfolios. A huge thanks to Natasha for her time and effort.
