W hat Do Swimmers Learn?
At the Evergreen Swim Club, individuals learn to develop their swimming skills. In the process, they build life values. Those values are:
• Hard work = success. In swimming, individual work ethio is directly related to success.
• Swimming is fair. A swimmer’s achievement is calibrated by the time clock. The measure is objective. For a swimmer, you are what you swim.
• Dedication and Commitment. Swimmers learn to recognize the value of commitment and dedication in enhancing personal achievement. They learn to push themselves, to stretch their ability and to revel in the joy of their accomplishment.
• Time Management. Swimmers excel in managing their time. Mixing practice, studies and social activities, swimmers develop work habits that make up a healthy, balanced lifestyle that is free of unwanted distractions.
• Swimmers learn to "compete".... in the sense of the Greek definition of the word..."to strive with". Swimmers understand that they will improve by competing with the best...which stimulates them to dc their best. They learn to appreciate and respect others who also do their best.
• Goal Setting. An integral part of the swimming process is the setting and achievement of goals. Swimmers acquire the ability to decide what they want to achieve and then to take measured steps tc realize their goals.
Parents, bring your children to the pool. Talk to other parents, coaches and swimmers.Try out fora week for FREE? Contact Head Coach Randy Trowbridge [email protected] or
