The Evergreen Chamber is doing its part to bring residents and visitors to our local establishments by hosting the 12th annual Santa Breakfast Saturday November 30. Although the event is sold out it has an important role to play. Families spend the morning with Santa and Mrs. Claus. They are encouraged to park downtown, take the FREE shuttle to the event at The Bistro at Marshdale and then return to browse the shops and celebrate Small Business Saturday in one of the best towns around! Thank you Citywide Banks for sponsoring Santa, the Downtown Business Association for sponsoring the shuttle and Evergreen Orthodontic Specialists and Ovation West Holiday Performances for sponsoring the event volunteers. Plus, there is a special offer from Seasonally Yours on the back of every ticket to again encourage shopping in Evergreen. The Evergreen Chamber Sparkle and Shine Holiday Gala and Business Awards will be held at The Wild Game on December 12. Who was nominated for our annual awards? Check our website for a full list. Proceeds from the raffle go toward the four annual college scholarships given out by the Evergreen Chamber. Auction proceeds are used to help run the visitor and local information center year round. What is your mission statement & what are your company goals? I am very excited to be here in Evergreen . We opened the Caldwell Insurance Agency Inc.-American Family one year ago on December 1, 2018 (Happy 1 year anniversary to us). It has been my personal goal to own and operate a business for quite some time. When the opportunity became available for this local agency here in Evergreen I knew it was the right place and fit for me. Our agency believes in Dreaming Big, helping to enrich others, delivering service in excellence and doing what is always right. (You can call this our value/mission statement). The goal is that we want to be the #1 agency in the mountain area.

Tell us about your business and your clients: We are a local business, and we are proud to fly the American Family flag above our door. What is unique about AMFAM is that we are a mutual company, meaning we are owned by our policy holders. Some people don’t know this but the company is 90 years old and services in 19 states with our branded American Family products. However we own the General, Homesite, Ameriprise Insurance (COSTCO) and other major brands that cover all 50 states. It’s quite a unique business model.

Locally, our office employs two licensed service agents in property and casualty, along with myself as the Agency Owner. Most of our business is local to Jefferson County, Clear Creek County, Summit County and the surrounding mountain communities. We have the ability to service both commercial businesses, farm and ranch businesses, personal policies like Home, Auto, Renters, Life insurance and more.

What is new with your business? Now that we have a year of operations under our belt we are ready to step out and start working with the local Evergreen community. We are excited to announce our Title Sponsorship of the Skate the Lake New Years Celebration that the Evergreen Chamber coordinates. We have signed a multi year deal with The Chamber to present to you this great family friendly event to celebrate new years eve. We look forward to seeing everyone at the event to kick off 2020!

Sculpture Evergreen Very few towns the size of Evergreen have such a wealth of outdoor sculptures on display, all made possible by Sculpture Evergreen. How did you get the background and skills necessary to run this type of business? I have a M.D.M, D,D,S., and F.A.C.S. I also went to school at the University of Texas to accomplish this.

What is your company’s goal? To give personalized patient care To make sure the patient knows we’re here to help To ensure confidence in our community.

What is unique about your business? I am the only board certified OMS in the region.

Some aspects that are important to my business We offer virtual surgical planning and have advance imaging. The surgical planning provides our patients with some extra confidence; being able to show them what will happen during the advanced surgery procedures. It allows me to create a specific plan catered to this specific patient. The advance imaging allows us to see more of the root cause of some issues that our patients are experiencing.

The Colorado Secretary of State’s Business Intelligence Center, in partnership with the Business Research Division of the University of Colorado, has launched a Data Tools eLearning course to teach Coloradans how to access, interpret, and analyze public data via a step-by-step tutorial. Operation Christmas Child

On Nov. 18, Ascent Church in Evergreen will serve as a drop-off location for shoebox gifts—filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items—for the Samaritan’s Purse project. During the project’s National Collec-tion Week (Nov. 18 – 25), this site will collect shoebox donations for children living in poverty overseas. Ascent Church volunteers hope to collect more than 2000 shoeboxes to contribute to Operation Christmas Child’s 2019 goal of reaching 11 million children in need. Q: What services or products do you offer/manufacture? Echo Mountain is Denver’s closest and most affordable skiing, snowboarding and tubing. We are open to everyone, 7 days a week, including 4 nights until 9:00 pm. We are also starting to host events, concerts, weddings and more as we get into 2020!

What inspired you to get started in this business? With the cost of time and money required to ski and snowboard, we recognized an opportunity to do things differently by trying to offer something closer to Denver and more affordable than the big resorts.

How did you get your idea or concept for the business? We looked very closely at past Echo concepts, as well as, what other areas in Colorado offered and felt like not only was there a gap in the market, but a huge opportunity. We are trying to buck the trend of the mega-resort by offering something guests still identify as their home resort.

What is unique about your business? We feel like we really are unique in a lot of ways! Everything from our customer base, which is an awesomely eclectic mix of locals and advanced skiers and riders to folks trying skiing or snowboarding, or even seeing snow, for the very first time.

How do you measure success and over what time frame? We try to measure success in two ways. One is by looking at how guests rate our customer service and leave Echo happy and excited about their time skiing and snowboarding- whether for their 1st or 500th time. Another is through the more traditional lens of financial stability – how do we get to a point where this business can be sustainable and avoid confusing cycles of death and rebirth.

What is the best part of working for this company? Our team definitely starts to feel like a family by the end of the season. We’re a small, tight-knit group that has to work together to deliver the kind of service and experience for which we strive. The relationships employees build with each other, and with our guests, is pretty awesome.

Is there anything else you would like your fellow Chamber members to know? We’re not a terrain park! And we’re not a private race training facility! We’ve been hard at work to rebrand and build awareness of who we are and what we offer (and have for 3 years now), but we still struggle with some confusion around the ghosts of Echo’s past.
