Bostonians (people from Boston) as thugs (criminals) who pour tea down the throat of the hapless revenue agent (tax collector). The Port of Boston was closed until citizens paid for the tea; the Massachusetts

royal governor's powers were increased, and the elected council abolished (outlawed); Boston town meetings were curtailed (could not

occur as often); ...”
