TROPICAL BUTTERFLY HOUSE01.07.-31.10., 9:00-19:00The National Botanical Garden of Latvia is one of the most popular places of recreation in Riga — it is possible to explore the compact but very informative area at a slow pace, to get acquainted with plants from all over the world, as well as to simply enjoy nature in the centre of urban life. It is also possible to find the only Tropical Butterfly House in the Baltic States with butterflies from South American, Asian and African tropical jungles.University of Latvia Botanical Garden

Seeking the horizon marks the propensity of the individual (microcosm) for balance in the expanse of the universe (macrocosm) and the desire to un-derstand the world order.Latvian Railway History Museum

language. In 19th-century Europe, a new movement of art revival was born that took nature as its main source of inspiration. From Barcelona to Helsinki, from Brussels to Ljubljana, from Glasgow to Nancy, a new aesthetic was born that created revolutionary, counteracting forms, bringing science and art together in one modern style. Indebted to the progress of the times and scientific publica-tions, artists created their own notion of beauty.St. Peter‘s Church

EXHIBITION "A NEW LOOK AT THE OLD CITY"01.07.-30.07., 10:00-20:00Riga is an ancient city, where every step is accompanied by a sense of history and peoples‘ memories. Some places often give you that feeling of the past hanging in the air. The works at this exhibition endeavor to capture special natural light effects. The exhibition allows you to see a special side of Riga, only visible from above. When overlooking the city from such heights, well-known buildings can be seen from a new perspective, changing their entire appearance. Exhibition house "Atklāj Rīgu" ("Reveal Riga")

EXHIBITION "AMBER IN CONTEMPORARY ART JEWELLERY"01.07.-26.07., 10:00-18:00 (I-V), 11:00-17:00 (VI)This exhibition shows the range of applications of amber in contemporary jew-ellery made by professional artists. This interest is mainly substantiated by the special material quality of amber and its historical value. The show will feature contemporary jewellery artists from Latvia and Italy, as well as authors from countries on the ‘Amber Road’ (Russia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Austria, Slovenia and Hungary). Thus, the show will connect the Baltic Amber Road not only geographically but also historically — from ancient to modern times, connecting the past with the future and demonstrating the beauty of jewellery.Art gallery Putti
