October 31 and November 1, 2014Maxwell Cohen Moot Court (room 100)New Chancellor Day HallMcGill's Faculty of Law was pleased to host a two-dayconference on the Canada – European Union ComprehensiveEconomic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
The first day of the conference focused on Regional TradeAgreements and EU Trade Policy.
The second day was devoted to investment law and investorstate dispute settlement.

Saturday, November 1: One of the most interesting sections of CETA is the investment chapter, which aims toclarify key substantive provisions commonly found in investment treaties, including the fair and equitabletreatment provision, in addition to including detailed procedural provisions delineating with more specificity thecharacteristics of arbitrators and their powers in resolving cases. Participants in a closing roundtable will discussthe implications of CETA, one of three investment agreements – the other two being the Trans-Pacific Partnershipand the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership – that will shape world investment and trade in the
