New Venture Expo: Program Summary

A New Venture Expo is a fantastic opportunity for students on your campus who are actively running businesses or have a new business idea with momentum to showcase their ventures in front of local entrepreneurs. Invite student entrepreneurs on your campus to host an exhibit within your event containing marketing content, presentations, promotional materials, and more!

The goal of this event is to expand the networks of your student entrepreneurs within their immediate ecosystem! Opportunities for partnership, funding, mentorship and more are made possible by hosting a forum for student businesses to be on display for those interested in similar industries.

Now you may be asking yourself, who do we invite to this? The answer is simple. Your local entrepreneurial and professional community! Inviting local entrepreneurs, established corporations, and entrepreneurial firms are a few perfect attendees for your expo. Not to mention, there are plenty of other invitees to consider not listed. These are individuals in your geographic area that have plenty to offer your fellow student entrepreneurs. Anything from mentorship relationships, further contacts, and event funding can come from simple interactions in an expo setting.

Encourage networking! Host a small reception following the expo time slot for the attending professionals to connect directly with your student entrepreneurs in a less formal fashion, to further develop connections. Offer refreshments and light food to your guests, this is your time to get creative. Seek out sponsors for this event, offering involvement with marketing materials, microphone time at the expo itself and networking sessions, direct messaging to the participating entrepreneurs, and more. Corporate involvement helps keeps your costs low, will increase attendance, and foster further relationships to support your group and entrepreneurial efforts down the line.

New Venture Expo: Marketing Overview

It’s not about who you know, but who knows you! Network with local entrepreneurs and corporate intrapreneurs by inviting them to attend an expo of on-campus collegiate student launched businesses. Cultivate your student entrepreneurs and encourage them to participate in this opportunity to get in front of their local entrepreneurial ecosystem!
