No Member of the Clackamas Kennel Club, Inc will enter or exhibit any dog at either show. No dog owned and living with a member of the CKC will be eligible to compete at either show. Dogs co-owned but not living with a CKC Member may be shown. Dogs owned by a CKC Member may be shown in Junior Showmanship Classes. Clackamas Kennel Club, Inc. Show Photographers or any member of their household will not enter or exhibit a dog at these shows.

The Clackamas Kennel Club, Inc. will donate a portion of each entry feeto the National Animal Interest Alliance Trust (NAIA), AKC/CAR, CHF & AKC Reunite.

USE OF RAMPS – ALL BREEDSA judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show

secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp).

At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition: Lagotto Romagnolo, American Water Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cirneco dell’Etnas, Standard Schnauzers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Finnish Spitz, Keeshonden, Entlebucher Mountain Dogs, Finnish Lapphunds, Icelandic Sheepdogs, Norwegian Buhunds, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Spanish Water Dogs, Mudi (Misc.) and Norrbottenspets (Misc.).

At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition, the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets.

The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Spaniels, Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei and Chow Chows.

This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4–6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in emergency situation to judge any breed.

In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund. For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds. (03/2019)

All exhibitors must leave the grounds 1 hour after Best In Show on Sunday, June 23, 2019.On Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, 2019 NO EXERCISE PENS ARE ALLOWED ON THE GRASS, IN OR AROUND THE SHOW RINGS. Crates ONLY may be taken to ringside during the judging of a specific breed. NO TENTS OR CANOPIES MAY BE SET UP. All Crates MUST BE REMOVED upon completion of judging of that breed. A designated grooming area will be provided.All dogs shall be kept on leash except when in the obedience ring.There shall be no drilling nor intensive or corrective training of dogs on the show grounds or premises.ABSOLUTELY NO FLEXI-LEADS OR LONG LINES ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THE SHOW GROUNDSDogs in soft crates must not be left unattended.Cars may drive to the grooming area to unload (20 minutes maximum) from 4:00 pm on Wednesday. All vehicles must return to the DAY PARKING AREA.Equipment left in the grooming area is the responsibility of the owner. Clackamas Kennel Club, Inc. will take no responsibility for any damage or theft. NO DOGS MAY BE LEFT IN THE GROOMING AREA OVERNIGHT. RESERVED & DAY PARKING INFORMATIONThe overnight and day parking is a privilege extended by the Clackamas Kennel Club, Inc., the Parking supervisor and the Clackamas County Fair. They reserve the right to withdraw this privilege from any person(s) who feel they cannot abide by the rules or resort to abusive language and/or other tactics. Any vehicle whose driver or occupant uses abusive language, argues with parking personnel or attempts to circumvent the rules and regulations will be asked to leave and will forfeit privilege without a refund. All parking is at your own risk. If you park in a no parking area you will be towed at the owner’s expense.The Clackamas Kennel Club, Inc., the Clackamas County Fairgrounds and the Parking Supervisor assume no responsibility or liability.

• ALL VEHICLES MUST BE SELF-CONTAINED. NO DISCHARGE OF WASTE WATER ON GROUNDS.• Only those with paid overnight reserved parking permits will be allowed in the reserved

parking area. All others will be asked to leave.• Exhibitors are responsible for damages and clean-up of their parking space.• Person’s providing incorrect vehicle length will be moved to overflow parking.• Returned checks will be assessed a $25.00 fee.• Generators are allowed between the hours of 6:00 AM & 10:00 PM ONLY. Please be aware

that carbon monoxide is dangerous and can be harmful to you, your dogs or other guests. Generator exhaust MUST be expelled safely into roadways or high into the air and not into adjacent RV campsites. CKC suggests if you need to run your generator you should have an “exhuast flow pipe” attached to their generator exhaust to vent the fumes upward and away from other campers in order to lessen the dangers of carbon monoxide. Under no circumstances can your generator vent directly into another RV site.

Day parking for Rings 13, 14 & 15 will be in the Yellow Lot (Lot C).Overnight parking of self-contained vehicles will be available by reservation. Spaces will be assigned in the order reservations are received. No acknowledgment will be sent.Parking will be available after 4:00 pm Wednesday, June 19, 2019. The gate will be closed and locked each night at 11:00 pm and reopen at 6:00 am each morning.

HOTELS & MOTELS THAT ACCEPT DOGS Exhibitors are urged to use extreme care in the treatment of motel space. The list of motels refusing dogs because of abuse of the premises is growing. PLEASE be a respon sible motel guest. Make reservations early! Area activities will make available space scarce. All hotels listed accept dogs, but pet fees & acceptance policy may vary. Exhibitors are encouraged to phone ahead. From I-205 South: Oregon City, Clackamette Park: Take Exit 9 & go north on Mcloughlin Blvd, about 1/2 mile. The park is between the River & the McDonalds.

From Canby OR: 99E North or South: The Dump Station is at the car wash behind Burgerville in Canby. Their sign says it is $5.00 & pick up the key at the Mexican restaurant in front of the car wash.

From 1-5 South: Exit 278: Dump station is at Leathers Shell (Left Side). 12334 Ehler Rd NE, Aurora OR

ROUTES TO THE SHOWSOUTHBOUND: Take I-205 from north of Vancouver to Exit #9, OREGON CITY. Follow signs to 99E, which goes through Oregon City to Canby (it’s about 8 miles from Oregon City to Canby). You can see the Fairgrounds to the right as you approach Canby. Look for FAIRGROUNDS road signs. OR Continue southbound on I-5 through the Portland metropolitan area and take exit #282, Canby-Hubbard. Follow the directions to Canby and go to the north end of town. Look for the FAIRGROUNDS signs to the showsite, which is on the west side of 99E.NORTHBOUND: Take the DONALD-AURORA Exit from I-5, turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp, proceed to Aurora (about 1 mile). Turn left onto 99E, go north through Barlow to Canby (about 4 miles). Go to the north end of town and follow FAIRGROUNDS signs to the show (to your left from 99E).

F.I.D.O.F.I.D.O. (Friends Involved in Dog Outreach) will be collecting dog food as donations in any form or amount at the Clackamas Kennel Club, Inc. shows, June 22 & 23, 2019. Please support fellow dog lovers by giving food or donations to this charity so we can show support through the pure-bred dog community. The programs deliver food alongside Meals on Wheels to Military members both active and retired including service dogs in a variety of capacities for service members. Additionally, we support a Children’s Hospital Staff Member Dog that was chosen for her breed’s outstanding qualities in this type of facility. It is so important that we get behind people that want a pure-bred dog to be reliable and healthy for the type of job for which they were bred. Also a monthly food bank is open to those families who may have to surrender their dogs, if not for the ability to have resources that keep the pets at home.

NW Barn Dogs will host the “Run to the Sun” Barn Hunt event on the first weekend of Summer held during the Clackamas Kennel Club show weekend – June 21, 22 & 23, 2019. In order to compete in Barn Hunt you must be registered with Barn Hunt and have a barn hunt number. Barn Hunt is open to all breeds, including mixed breeds. June 21, 2019 will have one trial with Masters and Crazy 8. June 22 & 23 will have 2 trials per day to include all levels, Instinct to Masters and Crazy 8. There will be 3 rings. Pre-entry is preferred to guarantee entry, but there will be day of show entries with an additional surcharge, if trial limits are not met. Information about Barn Hunt, the Premium, rules

AKC Code of SportsmanshipPREFACE: The sport of purebred dog competitive events dates prior to 1884, the year of AKC’s birth. Shared values of those involved in the sport include principles of sportsman-ship. They are practiced in all sectors of our sport: conformation, performance and com-panion. Many believe that these principles of sportsmanship are the prime reason why our sport has thrived for over one hundred years. With the belief that it is useful to periodically articulate the fundamentals of our sport, this code is presented.

• Sportsmen respect the history, traditions and integrity of the sport of purebred dogs.• Sportsmen commit themselves to values of fair play, honesty, courtesy, and vigorous

competition, as well as winning and losing with grace.• Sportsmen refuse to compromise their commitment and obligation to the sport of

purebred dogs by injecting personal advantage or consideration into their decisions or behavior.

• The sportsman judge judges only on the merits of the dogs and considers no other factors.

• The sportsman judge or exhibitor accepts constructive criticism.• The sportsman exhibitor declines to enter or exhibit under a judge where it might

reasonably appear that the judge’s placements could be based on something other than the merits of the dogs.

• The sportsman exhibitor refuses to compromise the impartiality of a judge.• The sportsman respects the AKC bylaws, rules, regulations and policies governing the

sport of purebred dogs.• Sportsmen find that vigorous competition and civility are not inconsistent and are able to

appreciate the merit of their competition and the effort of competitors.

• Sportsmen welcome, encourage and support newcomers to the sport.

• Sportsmen will deal fairly with all those who trade with them.• Sportsmen are willing to share honest and open appraisals of both the strengths and

weaknesses of their breeding stock.• Sportsmen spurn any opportunity to take personal advantage of positions offered or

bestowed upon them.

• Sportsmen always consider as paramount the welfare of their dog.

• Sportsmen refuse to embarrass the sport, theAmerican Kennel Club, or themselves while takingpart in the sport.
