PREPARE YOUR JOB MATERIALS.

Resume: Your document should be printed on high quality paper and should highlight: • Academic achievements • Licensure and certifications • All of your teaching experiences (including practicums and student teaching) • Leadership opportunities and unique experiences that set you apart • Community involvement (including volunteer work)

References: Ask before listing someone as a reference. Typically, three to four is sufficient. Provide references only when requested. References should be able speak to your teaching ability. Your references should be printed on high quality paper and should include the following: • Name • Title • Employer • Address • Phone number • Email

Portfolio: Your portfolio should include: • A resume • Philosophy of education • Letters of reference • Work samples • Visual aids (including photos of you working with your students)

Transcripts: Print several copies of an unofficial transcript to distribute.
