This is the Canon video recorder we used to record our film. The camera was easy to use, but was obviously not of the quality that proper films are recorded on. The video quality was good, but the sound recording was quite poor, and we had to be careful when filming outdoors, as the wind or passing cars often drowned out the sound of the dialogue.

This is the Tripod used to hold the camera steady and to pan around whilst filming. This tripod in particular was good, because the height could be adjusted with both the legs and by winding up the neck, which made it easier for us to film a variety of different shots. The only problem was that the panning wasn’t always smooth and in some shots, it made it look more jerky.

To edit the clips once they had been filmed, we used iMovie on the Apple Mac computer. This programme is fairly straight forward, although we did have a few technical problems with clips not uploading and the often found it frustrating when things wouldn’t work properly.

Logic Studio is a music editing software on the Apple Mac computer. We wanted to use the instrumental from the song ‘My Immortal’ by Evanescence and from ‘I want you’ by the Beatles. Issues with copyright meant that we couldn’t take it directly from the song, and when we tried to record them on the piano, the quality was very poor. This software was easy to use, and meant that we could recreate the music, and also add our own effects onto it.

We used a phone to record the voiceover. The quality was quite good, considering it was recorded on a phone and there wasn’t much background noise. However, it was saved in a file that was not recognised on the computer, which meant we had to convert it before it could be used.

After we had completed our product, we put it on Facebook to advertise it and to get other peoples opinions. Many small independent films rely on things such as social networks to advertise their films, as this way it gets out to the target audience in a much quicker and global way.
