2015 – 2017 Erasmus+ KA2 Project

MULTIDISCIPLINARY FLIPPED LEARNING WITH ICT FLwICT

Five classes worked on the project (two second year classes, three third year classes)

Out of these classes twenty students were chosen to make up the National group

All of the students of each class got involved in the following tasks First Year- First Semester

Improving Digital Skills First Year- First Semester

Improving Intercultural Awareness October 2015 Creating the project logo

February 2016 Preparing a presentation about the culture

December 2015 Preparation a digital postcard- Making an e-guide about how to make a movie- Preparing a video about the students’ own school

March 2016 Preparing an e-guide about the culture

January 2016 Preparing a presentation about Cyberbullying

April 2016 Preparing a presentation about the custom and etiquette

May 2016 General evaluation of the students’ products

Five students-in-charge uploaded the whole works on the e-twinning platform

The coordinator teacher of the project provided with the upload of the students’ works on face group because the Italian law forbids the registration of a minor on a social network.

46 students worked on the preparation of the project logo. They mainly used computer program for designing it and they succeeded in making interesting works. Students’ motivation and engagement were high. They enjoyed co-creating and sharing ideas. Few students got average performance degree in different items

38 students worked on the preparation of a digital postcard, making an e-guide about how to make a movie and preparing a video about the students’ own school. Results show important improvement in language and study skills but few students used the logos of Erasmus+, NA and the name of the project while building up their works and took care about mentioning the sources. Moreover students’ motivation reached high level while co-operation was not so successful.

The 6 students achieved the most positive performance degree in almost all items except the one concerning the use of the name of the project while building up their works. The third column in the graphic, instead, shows the lack of documenting sources: mentioning the sources was important to show they did a proper research, that their sources were reliable and to allow reader to track them down.

Of the 4 students involved in this activity only one mastered all the items accurately, the other three were able to carry out their performances very well but they didn’t care about citing the sources.

18 students worked on this item. The results show that 5 students achieved a high performance degree as they mastered all the items very well. Anyway the rest of the students improved their language and study skills, completed the work on time but they paid little attention to use the name of the project and to cite the sources.

Of the 4 students involved in this activity two mastered all the items accurately, the other two were able to carry out their performances very well but they didn’t care about citing the sources.

Graphic 6 - April 2016: Preparing a presentation about the custom and etiquette (only for students who attended the meeting in Latvia)

AVERAGE ABOVE AVERAGE SUPERIOR

The results of this students’ performance assessment allow us to summarize the following key points:

Improvement in language and study skills: students improved their English by using it in building up their works and communicating; students improved their method of learning (researching, analyzing, synthesizing, using maps,…)

Improvement in social skills: communicating, interacting, co-operating, sharing

Using ICT while making their activities

Very high students’ motivation

Few students used the logos of Erasmus+ and NA on their works

Few students used the name of the project on their works

General lack of attention to define the sources on their works
