EVALUATION-QUESTION 6 WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THE PRODUCT? From the recording of our film opening and constructing our product, we have learnt many techniques such as the use of software's, internet, SD cards and cameras. Using many different technologies, we have learnt essential parts in which we should be careful in such as watching out for jump cuts, blurs, sound interferences, creating our own music, focusing on action, and using the macs in an effective way. These were important to be taken serious as they are factors in which could impact on the marks that we gain for the recording in a destructive way and provide lack of evidence of work for our filming.

From the recording of our film opening and constructing our product, we have learnt many techniques such as the use of software's, internet, SD cards and cameras. Using many different technologies, we have learnt essential parts in which we should be careful in such as watching out for jump cuts, blurs, sound interferences, creating our own music, focusing on action, and using

the macs in an effective way. These were important to be taken serious as they are factors in which could impact on the marks that we gain for the recording in a destructive way and provide lack of evidence of work for our filming.

Use of garage bandOn the use of the software such as garage band and iMovie, we have learnt many constructive techniques such as adding transitions, effects and non-diegetic sounds.Using garage band, we have learnt to add different instrument sounds in the background with our own created music in the main body which we have created using the music keyboard. We have also learnt to change the sound pitch which provided us with a larger range of sounds. We learnt the technique of adding a large number of different sounds from different instruments to create something unusual and more interesting than normal.

We could have improved on our use of garage band if we were to use more instruments in the music creating although we knew how to do it, rather than a small range due to how we could have caused more distractive sound and build more tension, raising the fear of the viewer.

Using this tool, you can have access to the available transitions.

Using iMovie Using iMovie, we have learnt numerous techniques and some examples include the editing of lighting and supplementing of sound (non-diegetic, asynchronous and etc.). We have learnt to edit and remove jump cuts as well as adding transitions. These were constructive techniques that had a positive impact on our film opening for the reason that we was able to make our filming seem more professional and advanced. We was also able to add credits with different font types which made our recording seem to be more different and accomplished as selecting a usual font type could seem to be simple.

We could have got more sound tracks when editing in iMovie which we could have resulted in a more different and unusual horrific opening. We could have also used final cut rather than iMovie for the reason that there would be more options in the way that we can have more font types, effects, filters and there are more features.

This section of iMovie allows to select any type of credit which you would like to use.

Using final cut

we could have used more transitions for the editing of our filming because we were given many options but we used the same transition (straight cut) through the whole film editing.

We used this software for our preliminary task and it was effective for the reason that it provided us with a more range of features such as lighting styles and music tracks to make the preliminary task appear to be more interesting as it wasn’t horror to be building tension.

Internet (YouTube)As part of using the internet for our coursework, we have learnt about copyright rules which is why we have left a comment asking for permission in the use of the soundtrack which we have chose to use in our film. we have also learnt to select the soundtrack on YouTube (streaming website) and place it into iMovie. If we weren't to know how to use a YouTube soundtrack on iMovie, we would have had to use the soundtracks provided on this software (iMovie) which wouldn’t be useful for the reason that they are too basic to be used.

I personally believe that we could have added a Foley sound to show how we are capable of using this skill. We could have recorded the Foley sound in which we could have created and uploaded on YouTube. Afterwards we could have again use it from there to get it into iMovie.

Individual products (phones and ipads)The use of our phones and ipads were productive in the way that they showed how we have progressed and

worked through difficulties. We used our ipads due to how we didn’t have cameras for the preliminary task and although this was difficult due to not having the functions of an actual camera such as focusing on an object, we have got a pass for the recording. We have also used our phones to capture images of the group members working to provide evidence of our own work and we used this device to send these images through email so that we can upload them on our blogs. In the editing option of our blogs, we cropped the image in which we have received as inbox to our school email that we logged into through the computers and took a screenshot from.

We could have used anything to use for coverage as the function of a tripod. This is to gain support for the reduction of shaking of the ipad because there were too many shaking as the ipads are large in size which made it more difficult to hold onto and have more control over.

Camera useDuring this coursework, we have learnt to use the camera in a really effective way as we learnt to focus, move the camera fluently with the tripod, zoom-in and zoom-out. These were helpful because these factors contributed to our film being more proficient. The focus was to keep the audiences attention on a specific character with the zooming skills to acquire the right shots (mid-shot, close-up etc.). The fluent movement of the camera was also beneficial since it was used to provide more detail of the location.

We could have improved in our camera skills if we were able to get the focus to be more accurate although we knew how to focus on a character. We could have also have steadied the camera while we were focusing on a characters facial expression and this could have been more progressive with the use of a tripod.

Tripod could be used ideally to provide support in the holding of the camera so that the level of shaking could reduce.
