Apple iMac

Advantages Disadvantages • The Apple iMac is a unique

computer which provides various types of software apps such as Final cut express and Garagband

• This was one of our main type of technologies used to construct and put together our film

• Provides a lot of simplicity for first time users

• High quality display screen with retina display which offers excellent colour rendering, brightness and contrast for film making

• Although it is simple it may take time for getting use to at the very first and familiarisation

Apple iPhone Advantages Disadvantages • The Apple iPhone is a very

useful product, we were able to use this device to find ongoing research and information for our film

• We also used the device to take pictures of our research and planning for our blog

• Also using voice over for evaluation tasks that needed to be posted on our blog

• The Apple iPhone device is not useable for everything meaning it was limited to certain tasks

• Battery life is not long lasting as it needs to be recharged

Camera (Cannon D600)Advantages Disadvantages • Main technology used for

our film because me recorded our video footage as well as pictures to show characters and locations

• The camera was also used for feedback from other groups for our film for improvements

• Camera memory is small meaning we had to delete previously videoed footage in order to record more footage and pictures

• Charging the battery life was time consuming

Final Cut ExpressAdvantages Disadvantages • Final Cut Express enables us

to add special effects to our opening sequence such as, filters, sounds and titles

• Allowed us to cut unneeded footage and errors

• Very easy and simple to get use to and familiarise yourself with

• Easy ability to construct our film together

• Very time consuming when learning the ins and outs of the app

• Sometimes it was hard to find things meaning we had to do research in order to find the feature we wanted to use

GarageBand (App)Advantages Disadvantages • Ability to create sounds or

edit existing sound pieces to add to our opening sequence

• Simplicity of the app allowed us to get familiar with the app quicker and more comfortable

• Availability of various features gave us the opportunity to explore different effects within the app

• Also allowed us to compose our own pieces of music using our own instruments

• Uploading music from a recorder to the GarageBand app didn't’t have good sound quality

• Time consuming for getting comfortable with the app

YouTube Advantages Disadvantages • YouTube allowed us to

research any of the features we were unfamiliar with or couldn't’t find within the app when using for the first time

• Also used YouTube for research and information on our opening sequence

• Allowed us to explore different samples of sounds and music we could use within our film

• Helped us research different special effects we could include in our opening sequence

• Not enough information on certain research we needed

• Couldn’t find some videos such as tutorials on some apps we used such as Final Cut Express

BloggerAdvantages Disadvantages • Allows us to present

information such as research, analysis, planning and many more as evidence for our film

• Ability to upload information in different formats such as slide shares, YouTube videos and Prezi’s

• Allows people to access your work

• Opportunity to share blog on social media for more views and subscribers

• Time consuming to get use to using blogger

• When uploading information PowerPoint presentations it has to changed to a slide share format

Good way of presenting information to audience PowerPoint is very easy to use as well as its features Ability to add unless slides and effects for presentational purposes
