WecalledthedocumentaryThejourneywetake.andthefiveminuteextractstarted1minuteafterthedocumentaryTVprogrammebegan.
Fromthestarttotheendoftheextract,themainconventionweusedwasbasedonthedirectinterviewsandwastotallyfocusedonthethreeindividualpeople.Inevitably,thisallowedtheintervieweestospeakdirectlyaboutoursubjectmatterpromptedbythequestionsaskbymeandArran.Thisessentiallycreatesasenseofrealismfortheviewer,thatthedocumentarymakers(MeandArran)aremutuallysharedbyanotherperson,andthusismorevalid.Iwouldsaythatthiswasthekeyconventioninprovidingaplatformtoworkanddevelopfrom.
Anotherconventionalaspectweusedwasthetechnicalityofrealismwhenshapingourinterviews,thenaturallightingwasveryimportanttocapturetoenhancethequalityoftheinterview.Thelightingarrangementwasdifferentforeachpersonasitwassetindifferentlocations.

Thelightingideasfortheextractwasadoptedfromthegeneralconventionsofourmediaproduct.
