2. 2. 6. What have you learntabout technologies fromthe process ofconstructing theproduct?
3. 3. Originally, before I had started this project I didnot know much about the technologies from theprocess of constructing a product. I had usedSony Vegas which is an application that can beused to construct a media product, I used thispreviously to create a trailer. I had also usedwindows movie maker previously in order toconstruct a media product.We went through a whole process beforeactually making our opening. We thought that wewould make a thriller as that was a genre thathad stood out to all of our group members. Wedid online research on people like Kyle Cooperand Saul Bass in order to know more aboutopenings. As we were doing a thriller we decidedto go into more depth and do some analysis onopening sequences of thrillers.
4. 4. We already had locations in our minds when it came to the planning stage sowe went out and found different locations for our opening. The mainlocations that you will see are: The woodland area/forest Bedroom 1 Bedroom 2
5. 5. We wanted quite realistic settings so we decided on thesereal locations, we didnt want an over the top location, wejust wanted it quite simplistic. The woods is quite typical fora thriller but it also looked eerie and spooky so that wasgood for our opening. We went into more depth on how toblog during this planning stage and we also got more usedto camera equipment with having to do location shots for alocation sheet that we did that included health and safetyaspects of the location.
6. 6. We then went onto the construction stage after this.I learnt a lot more about new technologies in this stage. I learntmore about working the camera and more effective techniques onhow to film so that it looks good. This stage had enables us to openour horizons to new editing techniques with the editing technologySong Vegas. One of the editing techniques I had learnt was how toenhance colours, which we did for the red on the clips. We did thisby using the effect pure red screen and dragging it onto each ofthe clips. Another effect we used was darker less contrast whichgave our clips less contrast and made them look darker, which alsohelped the red stand out more. Music was a bit of a problem duringthis process, one problem was choosing the song but another wasthe fact that we didnt want it to just cut out at the end as it wouldntsound good so to get around this problem we made the song fadeout so it flowed more. We needed transitions for the titles as wewanted them to be different compared to the usual titles that justappear over the clip so we used portals.
7. 7. To evaluate our work we had a focus group and got feedback in order to improve. Each individual told usthere views and some gave us improvements. We were also able to get feedback from family members whocould give us views and opinions and this was good as it was more of a variety of people.FeedbackPositivefeedbackImprovements
