Ancillary Task Questionnaire

Question 1

Page 3: Evaluation No2

• We saw that 2 were male and 4 were female, this makes it interesting immediately as we can see who is more interested in our chosen topic. Our target audience was female so when we saw more responses were from females this was positive as it meant that the target audience has been clear throughout enough that we did attract a larger female audience.

Question 2

• After seeing all respondents thought our work related to the main task was extremely satisfying, it meant our work had been a definite success and it achieved what we wanted. Making sure there was a clear relation between the two was hard at times so to be told it was clear is a big achievement.

Question 3

Page 7: Evaluation No2

• This question all came down to opinion really so it was really interesting to see the submitted responses. This received a fairly even response with 4 favouring the magazine and 3 preferring the newspaper advert. As we only asked 6 people someone obviously couldn’t choose to chose them both as their favourite. I think having balanced results show that they were both equally as effective and informative it just comes down to personal opinion on which one you favour.

• This part of question 3 was extremely interesting to analyse. As all answers were personally written and answered in the audiences own words we gathered a range of answers with a range of opinions. As you can see all responses were positive and not a single one had a bad word to say, this is really overwhelming as it shows just how popular the work was, however constructive critism is also very helpful and can massively improve the finished product. Personally written responses are always much more specific and makes it feel more thought about and considered. I really liked reading all the favourite aspects of our ancillary tasks such as one audience member really liked the featured instagram photos we used, someone else liked how bright and clear all our work was displayed. Again people repeatedly said how professional our work looked which was really satisfying.

Question 4

• This question was a bit of a long shot as I was unsure people would understand what we meant when asking. We wanted to see how people perceived the programme and who they thought it was most appropriate to. Majority of the audience did in fact guess correctly which was brilliant as it showed that our documentary had been made so specifically and appealing to our chosen target audience that over half the people we asked guessed the correct answer. Of course the documentary can be enjoyed and watched by all sexes of all ages but when making something you need to be as specific as you can possibly be to receive the highest amount of viewers.

Question 5

Page 13: Evaluation No2

• As this only received a 100% response, we are limited what to write about. This question only received a positive answer which again proves that the work has been done to the correct, high standard that it was meant to. As all of the audience would watch the documentary just from seeing the article or advert it was satisfying as it meant even without seeing a moving advert or clip people would still be interested and want to watch our documentary. It would have been interesting to see another opinion though as it would have helped us improve any minor details that we had missed out on.
