Evaluation

This is my evaluation on Chewies presentation. For this assignment I and

my colleague Dion had to create and design a new pack of chewing gum,

bottled water or a sugar free cereal bar for kids. After debating for a while

we decided to go for the chewing gum. We had no trouble choosing the

name for our product, I put forward Chewies and from that point we went

with that. We needed a motto and a slogan for our product, and we wanted

something that was simple but effective so we went with the motto “our

gum is good” which describes our gum exactly. I and Dion used red and

green for our colours, because it resembles the flavour of our gum

“watermelon”. Dion and I searched for a while to get a font,

but finally we choose one that is funky and looks cool!

This is how most of our slides looked. We only had a small amount of detail

because with loads of info it can be quite confusing. But with less detail the

longer it sticks in your head.

We wanted our prezi to be

appealing to the eye with nice

colours, easy to read text and a

simple lay out.

This is how our presentation looked

visually, as a whole.

With this unit we needed three different ways of advertising our gum.

These where the three different ways we advertised our gum; a bus ad,

whole magazine page ad, website ad and finally T.V advert. I started by

creating the bus advert. To start I created the background for the bus ad,

these colours represent our flavours.

To create the background I used the gradient tool. Secondly I

imported an image, and I

needed something from it. The lips. To do this I used the

magnetic lasso tool= with this tool I cut out the lips, and

placed them on my advert. Finally I inserted the text to the ad.

Unfortunately It seems that I have lost the Photoshop version and only

have the ad as a jpeg so I can’t show you step by step of how I done the text.

But it’s simple, I wrote the text and copied it another two times and placed

them behind each other, however moved them slightly to the left or right,

to give a shadow affect with different colours. I did the same affect with all

the other text on all my other ads.

This is my final outcome for the bus ad, its simple, shows our motto and the

flavour.

I’m pleased with the final with the final ad. However I feel like I could have

put more time and effort into it to make it the best it can be.

This is how our ad

looked on the side

of a London bus…

To create our TV advert we had to use a certain programme. Premiere pro.

This programme lets you create a media footage file. To start we opened

the programme, and saved it to prevent me from losing it.

Before this we recorded all of our footage, at this stage we are ready to edit

and put together our advert. First I imported all the clips we recorded.

Secondly I put the clips in order, and then placed a quick and easy

video effect. I put the effect on every clip. Thirdly we started to

insert the text in to the clips due to our audio issue. To place the text

you need to head along tool bar to title, then new title and you have

the choice of defult till, defult crawl and

defult roll.

The text helped us get over the audio

problem respectfully. Im pleased with the

final results of all our adverts.

Within our group I think there where some things that we done well overall

and something’s that we could have done better. Whilst producing our gum

ads there are some aspects that I would change if I had the opportunity to

do it again. On a whole I think that I and Dion did fairly well on this unit.

Our strengths where completing all the tasks given to us and on schedule,

completing the tasks to a reasonable standard and finally getting a

respectful result/grade at the end.

Evan though we had some strengths we also had some weaknesses. Firstly

producing the adverts to the best of our ability and putting more time into

them, making look better and more pleasing to the eye. Secondly we had

some issues with audio when filming our TV advert and it seemed really

windy on the day so all the mic picked up was the wind blowing, so next

time I would try a different location or try to prevent it.

For this unit I think I worked well as a whole.

Supporting my team member with the magazine

advertisement. In the making of our adverts we had to create

three different adverts I done two and Dion had to do one, the

magazine advert. I helped Dion with getting the photos and

placing the text correctly.
