SimilaritiesBoth of these magazines have a main single striking image. The masthead of the magazines are both in the top left of the page. The cover lines are both in the middle of the page on each magazine, these are both put across the main image and are big and bold and easily visible upon the background image. Both of these magazines have a footer on them containing artists that are from the genre or from inside the magazine. Both the barcodes are in the bottom right along with the date, issue and price. The magazines both follow the ‘magic c’ with the cover lines that are visible when stacked on selves. Both of these front covers also contain a flash which reveals a competition from inside the magazine. The magazines both use limited colours and stick to a basic colour scheme this is effective as it shows the audience it is aimed at is not very young.

DifferencesThe main image of my magazine takes up the whole cover whereas the main image in the other one is cut off from the top and the bottom of the magazine. The NME magazine has a header at the top showing more artists from inside the magazine my magazine doesn’t have this.
