To discover how much my ancillary tasks and main product linked together I handed out several questionnaires to a group of 40 students who met the criteria for my target audience.

The actual task itself was to create two ancillary tasks one being a poster, the other a Digipac. These were the ancillary tasks I had to do. As for my main product I had made the decision to create a music video instead of a horror trailer.

This here shows that my target audience recognise that my ancillary task and main product link together. Therefore, proving that the combination of the both of them proves successful.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary task

Due to the eye being a significant element in my main product which highlights the identity of the vampire I chose to place it as a main aspect in both of my ancillary tasks. Therefore, making a crucial link between them both and making it clear to my target audience that the main product and ancillary task are based around the concept. I believe that by linking my main product and ancillary tasks together it makes them both more successful as my target audience will recognise them straight away.

I believe my ancillary tasks are effective as they follow the conventions of real media texts of the chosen genre. They have a similar same house style, layout etc. making them more appealing to my target audience. Another reason why I believe it is successful is as it is placed on my blog there it is possible for an international audience to comment and share their views about my work.

As the roses are a significant representation of the death of the vampires human life, which appear at the start of my main product, I wanted it to also appear in my ancillary tasks as well.

EFFECTIVENESS OF MAIN PRODUCT

I believe my main product is successful as it follows most of the typical conventions of a rock video. Although the identity of the band is hidden I believe this will be effective too as it is different and is something new for my target audience to watch.

As the genre of the video is rock. I wanted this to appear in both of my ancillary tasks as well. Therefore the house style I think is represented both in my main product and both my ancillary tasks.

The main colour pallet used was mainly deep reds, black and purple and this is present in all aspects of my work to show there is a strong connection between them.

Therefore, I believe both of my ancillary tasks and main product are successful and effective.
