EvaluationHow does the trailer make you feel? How does this reflect the genre of the film?

The trailer uses short and quick clips throughout in a montage. This makes me feel excited for the actual film as many questions are provoked by the trailer. As shown above from the screenshots of the clip, the audience will want to know what is happening in the clip and why this may be happening. Plus, much of the trailer may not make much sense, however, this is purposely done in an attempt to confuse the audience in order for them to have unanswered questions which will be answered in the actual film.

Location for meeting Initial Meeting between key characters.Key character observing main characters location.Payment for completion of job.As show below, each screenshot is taken from a different scene throughout the film trailer and tells a different mini story within the whole films story. As a result of this, the audience will have a range of questions on why this may be happening. Furthermore, each scene links to the next in a story telling fashion at the same time as it confuses the audience. This will further create excitement with the audience due to the mixture of emotions shown throughout the film.

What is the film about?

Story...An Illegal organisation at the core of the black market in the UK has been chased for years by MI5. After multiple instances of investigative research on this organisation, the MI5 developed a case to take them down. At the core of this situation is a newly recruited spy, who is undercover for the MI5. However, after growing a strong bond with the head of the illegal organisation, the undercover officer has a decision to make. Tell the CIA the right or wrong location? Both carrying life threatening risks!

1.2.3.4.8.7.6.5.9.10.11.12.The previous slide shows the story for the film trailer I have made and below is each scene within the film trailer. I will use both of these to understand and show what the film is actually about and how it may be shown in the film trailer... The illegal organisation within the film an be seen when we consider the deal that is taking place between the main character and the second in the car. The reason for this may be blurred to the audience creating multiple questions. The newly recruited spy an obviously be seen by the audience as the main character due to him being in a range of situations throughout the film trailer. However, his actions have caused him to become deeply engaged in a situation that forces him to make a decision, shown right at the end of the trailer. The strong bond that is created between the two characters seen most in the film trailer is obvious due to them working together. However, this bond has a considerable effect on the main character when he is stuck with a Split Decision. This message can be seen with the film, but vaguely which was purposely done in order to confuse the audience so that they will want to find the answers to these questions.

What is the trailer doing to encourage you to go to the cinema?

Below, you an see the different scenes within my film trailer and shows a mixture of locations and situations. This confuses the audience through much of the film and most people may not understand what the film is about. However, this is purposely done in order for the audience to ask questions about why such situations may be happening and what this may mean. As a result of this, the audience will want to go to the cinema to find the answers to these questions.

1.2.3.4.8.7.6.5.9.10.11.12.Creating n emphasis n the main characters focus and relationship with a powerful drug dealer. This will ensure that the audience fear the danger that could occur if the situation goes downhill. Also, the use of quick cuts between scenes within the film trailer, not only does this confuse the audience but adds to the excitement of the trailer. On top of this, each scene is quite dangerous for the main character in the film which would excite the audience. Finally, the use of short, quick clips within the trailer creates confusion causing the audience to question the film and its story. This therefore will require for the audience to go to the cinema and watch the actual film in order to find the answer to such questions. Not only does the trailer confuse the audience a considerable amount, but the trailer tries to excite the audience in a number of ways, including... Which actors are present and how does this reflect the genre?

Firstly...Chris Pass who plays Boris in this film is very much a big and mysterious character, but also at the same time is very direct with his approach and thinking to situations within the film. This is key to the character that he plays as the situation he is in within the film requires a quick, direct approach.

Secondly...Terrance Spiers is a character who is mainly direct and open to any situation he comes across. These are perfect features of the character and also meet the specifications of this character as he will be set several tasks that require him to be ready for anything that he may come across.

The following actors are present...

The genre of the film is Thriller, so in an attempt to Thrill the audience I needed to confuse the audience so that they would ask questions which would be answered at the cinema. The actors therefore are required to be quite mysterious in there actions throughout the film, but also direct in their approaches.

Also, they need to add a sense of excitement within the film so that I can still keep the attention of the audience and are not filled with boredom by such confusion in the story. The actors are therefore required to take direct action in specific scenes such as the fight scene with the main character. The actors shown on the previous slide are key to the film working in a way that confuses the audience over the story. This is because... Montage in the trailer. Short and quick or long and slow? How does this make you feel?

Firstly, I used a range of scenes in relation to the core story, which are slightly similar, but mostly different in a montage. This adds a variety to the clip which will keep the audiences attention to the film trailer although the story may be full of confusion.

Each clip within the montage of the film trailer lasts only a couple of seconds each which adds speed and excitement to the story which also keeps the audience entertained.

This use of speed and quick cuts from scene to scene is very advantageous to the film as the audience are intrigued to find out more on the story, but also want to see the intense action shown in the trailer. Within the film trailer I have created, the confusion in the storyline will tend to create a sense of boredom with he film. So, to ensure the trailer has he full attention of the audience, I used short and quick montages of clips in order to add a sense of excitement along with the confusion to keep the audience attention... What emotion does the music evoke?

The soundtrack used for my film trailer is very much fast paced and exciting which only partly suits my film trailers story and genre. However, due to the storyline being very confusing, this soundtrack helps add the excitement side to the trailer which should keep the audiences attention throughout the film trailer.

Also, the use of the soundtrack will add a slight intensity to the trailer helping the audience to further question what is happening within the film trailer. Also, the areas I have added scenes that intend to entertain the audience rather than confuse them will be suited with this film trailer used. The music used within my film trailer is...Extreme Ways by electronic artist Moby; Listen by clicking here =

What taglines or catchphrases are present?

A man on his own... Used in a voice over.

He has to make a choice... Used in a voice over.

What...will...he...do... Text that flashes on screen.

...When...stuck...with...a... Text that flashes on screen.

The catchphrases that have been chosen to be used within the film trailer are... To help them something to remember the film by in order for it to stand out from other films.

Also, the catchphrases are used to help the film catch the audiences attention when they may be watching the trailer through. This would be very effective for a film trailer that tends to confuse its audience with the story, ensuring the trailer has the full attention of its audience.

Also, the catchphrases used in the film trailer an also be used as a marketing tool in other ancillary products I will be creating.

The taglines shown on the previous slide have been chosen so that they fit in with the storyline chosen. Although most of the scenes may be confusing to the audience, the taglines used help the audience to understand partly what the film is about.

The taglines that have been used within the film trailer also help the audience...
