Page 2: Evaluation

This week I learnt about “evaluation”.

Evaluation has different definitions, but in education it is a process to examine students’ progress.

Page 3: Evaluation

When teachers evaluate students’ progress they can know if the purposes are achieved or not. Evaluation helps techers to prove the effectiveness of the process used to teach.

Teachers evaluate students with different tasks and in different ways.

Page 4: Evaluation

One way to evaluate is using tests to measure students’ knowledge.

There are other activities such as projects, oral presentations, portfolios, etc.

In the past, the evaluation process was kind of difficult and boring because teachers usually used only tests and was really hard evaluate big groups of students.

Nowadays, with the use of technolgy devices this process is easier.

There are computers programs which are helpful to obtain grades and reduce time and effort.

But, the most important role of technology in the evaluation process is it provides teachers new different activies to evaluate students.

Teachers can find many ideas to implement in class or pre-designed tasks for students which give them a wide variety of activities to evaluate students.

Students are also benefited with technology because they have access to many tools that help them to solve the tasks and create great things.

In conclusion, I think technology is important in evaluation for two reasons:

1) It facilitates the evaluation process. 2) It provides a wide variety of

activities to evaluate students.
