Evaluation Question 2 ‘How does your media product represent particular social groups?’
![Page 2: Evaluation 2](https://reader035.fdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022070513/588741a71a28ab5a628b4d13/html5/thumbnails/2.jpg)
My magazine represents social group such as Q magazine and Billboard magazine. I based most of
my research on these two magazines in particular so my magazine has followed similar codes and
convention and features as they have done on their magazine.
Comparing my magazine to Q magazine firstly you can see clearly that I've used a similar shot of the image that Q used for their cover, both magazines have a close/ extra close-up shot of the artists, and they are both looking directly towards the camera which is giving the effect that the artist is giving
direct eye contact to the audience which gives the appearance of seriousness and professionalism. The difference between the two artists appearance is my
magazines (C magazine) cover shot connotes happiness, positivity and success.

Both images on each magazine front cover have similar lighting on the models faces,
they have bright strong lighting on their face which makes them appear more clear and bold and the light highlights each artists facial features, I used professional studio
lights to purposely reflect light on my models facial area to make her face look a
lot more brighter. This conforms the ideology that models look better in good lighting and
hence appeal to this target audience.

Comparing the appearance of both artists we can see clearly that they both are wearing make up and this shows a social representation, as this
was done to purposefully fit in with the representation of teenage girls and older as
makeup associates femininity which the media portrays a woman's physical beauty rather than their talent, so that is why I kept my
artists make up to a minimum which contrasts to what Q magazine have done with Florence
and the machine.

The hair styles used in both magazines are quite similar. Their hair are both worn down and lay on either side of their faces, their hair share a comparison as they both appear healthy and shiny with a vibrant colour and this is to help
attract potential buyers as my target audience are interested in beauty and fashion so the
appearance of the model help draw attention from people viewing a magazine. Overall both
magazines carry a sense of femininity and conforms to societal expectations.
