My inspirations and inter-textual references of real media products were created during the research stage of my A2 coursework.

Forms and Conventions of music videos...

Are highly dependent upon the GENRE of the music video.

The music industry is split into many different styles and types and therefore media products in the music industry tend to have different codes and conventions. These variations are evident also in music videos.

How have I used these conventions in my own media product?

As I created my music video with the intention of using similar styles of filming and editing as Ben Howard I believe that I have been able to successfully portray these conventions in my own work.

How did I develop or challenge Ben Howard’s typical music video?

The element of dance which I have included in my music video is different to the style of dance seen in indie or folk genres.

The dance used in my music video is generally more typical to hip-hop music where the emphasis is the beat of the song and this is shown by the dance moves. Whereas folk dance is used as a form of celebration or a way for the community to social.

However I think that the dance I have used works in my music video because the movements and fairly simple and match the tempo of the song.

The Digi Pack required slightly less research and planning .

As I had already produced my music video therefore I had an idea of the images and information which were needed in the digi pack to support the video.
