DESIGNED IN PARISANYWEAR
SOL’S LOCATED IN AN ICONIC
DISTRICTNestled between four major boulevards – Sébastopol, Réaumur, Poissonnière and Bonne-Nouvelle – the Sentier district has always been at the very heart of textile manufacturing. Within these streets tucked away in the second arrondissement of Paris, several shops have sprung up in line with the workshop-boutique concept: the aim is to produce and sell to retailers as well as wholesalers, whilst operating from a single premises.
SOL’S has made this district steeped in tradition its home ever since its inception. It counts stylists, designers, pattern makers, product and communication managers as well as graphic designers among its employees, working against the urban backdrop of the Parisian cityscape. Motivated by trendsetters strutting their stuff around the rue Montmartre and rue d’Aboukir, inspired by the eclectic styles spotted on the terrace cafés in the Montorgueil district, and keeping a close eye on Fashion Weeks, our designers know exactly what to put into their future collections.
SOL’S are quality products with shapes and patterns designed in our style studio. Outfits are finished with refined details, the materials we use are innovative and always comfortable, colours come in marls, neons or simply smart, whilst polka dot or striped prints are up-to-the-minute in terms of current trends.
Keen to embrace the Designed in Paris concept, our brand offers a complete collection enabling the promotional textiles market to gradually blend into the world of fashion and retail.

This means that each and every new item is sub-jected to a comprehensive and rigorous quality control process. In particular, this covers mate-rial testing, colour compliance, measurements, chemical substances, and mechanical and tech-nical testing. This process continues with quality inspections throughout the various production stages, followed by regular and frequent testing throughout the life cycle of the product and any sub-products.
• Chemical substance tests: determined in line with current regulations and the materials used during production, in accordance with toxi-cology specifications
• Mechanical and technical tests: defined according to the intended use and function of products. These tests are carried out in accor-dance with specific standards. Colour fastness to water, dry rubbing, wet rubbing and perspiration, pilling test, strength of zips, handles, etc.
• Inspections are carried out at various points in the production process: at the begin-ning, middle and end. These inspections are car-ried out in accordance with Military Standard 105-E (NFX 06-022; ISO 2853). Random checks are also carried out on products entering our warehouse.

CERTIFICATIONS
THE FAIR SPIRITDESIGNED IN PARISANYWEARWELCOME
SOL’S takes the Geneva Convention one step further.
The Geneva Convention limits the legal age to 14 or 16, depending on the signatory country. SOL’S has made sure that its partners strictly adhere to the minimum working age of 14, in Bangladesh in particular. SOL’S ensures this agreement is adhered to by carrying out frequent checks on all its production sites.
FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION ACCREDITATION
Building on its high ethical and social values developed over the past 15 years, SOL’S be-came a member of Fair Wear Foundation on 1st June 2014. It is committed to ensuring the eight principles of the FWF code of conduct are adhered to, by SOL’S itself as well as its factories.
By affiliating with Fair Wear Foundation, SOL’S also commits to making improvements in line with social norms (working with factory managers to make concrete improvements to working conditions), based on an action plan approved by Fair Wear Foundation. Each year, SOL’S also commits to providing Fair Wear Foundation with a status report and details of any improvements made.

ENVIRONNEMENT LOCAL DEVELOPMENT
THE FAIR SPIRITDESIGNED IN PARISANYWEARWELCOME
SUSTAINABLE APPAREL COALITION
SOL’S is proud to have been a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) since 2015. Today, the SAC includes over 150 brands, organi-sations and manufacturers, all leaders in the gar-ment and footwear industries.
This coalition of manufacturers shares one com-mon vision: sustainable development. It develops environmental performance evaluation tools on production sites. As a result, SOL’S is committed to monitoring its energy and water consumption as well as its waste management, to reduce their environmental impact.
CERTIFICATION ISO 50001 : 2011
In May 2017, SOL’S obtained certification accor-ding to the requirements of ISO 50001: 2011 for ‘Energy Management’. This was achieved by controlling energy consumption at its head of-fice building in Paris, implementing recycling ini-tiatives and focussing its efforts on its circle of influence – choosing to work with suppliers and service providers that have adopted the same ap-proach.
SOL’S has been involved with communities for over 15 years, supporting leading NGOs in countries where our products are manufactured. Through SOL’S initiatives, it helps contribute to improving the living conditions of the local population.
SOL’S also encourages and supports any employees undertaking humanitarian missions.
For example, a mission undertaken by ophthalmic surgeons in 2015 provided 2,800 medical appointments and 300 operations, improving the everyday lives of severely disadvantaged people or even restoring their sight.
THE SREEPUR ORPHANAGE
Much more than just an orphanage, this is a training centre and refuge that SOL’S has been supporting since 2009. Unique in Bangladesh and completely independent, it helps destitute families as well as orphans, providing education for over 500 children. It also offers training that enables 150 mothers to regain a social life and return to work each year.
THE NARI UDDUG KENDRA NGO (NUK)
NUK is an NGO that works to fund the Agarasindhur community hos-
pital. The aim of this NGO is to improve the health of local communities by providing a high quality medi-cal service throughout the district.
NATIONAL DEBATE FESTIVAL
BANGLADESH
Keen to support young people who will be the fu-ture of Bangladesh, SOL’S is proud to sponsor this major annual student festival. For the past ten years, this festival has brought together hundreds of young leaders to debate social, political, economic and cultural issues, aiming to give them a voice and encourage them to work together to develop their country.
MÉCÉNAT CHIRURGIE CARDIAQUE (MCC)
The Mécénat de Chirurgie Cardiaque (Cardiac Sur-gery Sponsorship Scheme) enables children with heart defects to travel to France for surgery, in cases where they cannot be treated in their home country due to a lack of financial and technical re-sources. Every month, MCC treats children in nine cities across France. In addition to its primary mis-sion, MCC also provides training for general prac-titioners in home countries, as well as sponsoring schools. MCC’s cause conveys its strong values: au-dacity, generosity, effectiveness, transparency and fighting spirit.
As SOL’S shares these same values, it now partners this charity by providing clothing for employees and volunteers at several events such as the Tour de France. It also provides SOL’S products to sell at various different events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, the Tour de France Etape du Cœur (ce-lebrity charity bike ride), the Yogis du Cœur (cha-rity yoga event), the Gentleman du Coeur (charity bike ride), the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe horse race, the Paris Chocolate Fair and the Vendée Globe yacht race, to raise money for the MCC charity.
ORGANIC CONTENT STANDARD
SOL’S is committed to caring for the environment by developing its own range of items produced via organic farming: SOL’S is also committed to achieving ORGANIC CONTENT STANDARD cer-tification by working with the globally renowned Control Union Certifications body to obtain and guarantee this standard. The Control Union Cer-tifications programme guarantees the tracea-bility and compliance of articles marketed and made from organic yarn. It also guarantees that no GMOs have been used to produce those items. SOL’S is certified under number CU815208 for the following items: ORGANIC MEN, ORGANIC WOMEN, ORGANIC KIDS, ORGANIC BAMBINO and ORGANIC ZEN.
