Towards a STRATEGIC RESEARCH AGENDA

• Set-up of high level Governing Council

• Bottom-up creation of Thematic Expert Groups involving cross-sectoral industry, services, academia, authorities and other stakeholders

• Set-up of supporting Horizontal Task Groups on research-related topics (Financing, Education, Standardisation) & Innovation Management working group

• Development of long-term thematic visions and overall Strategic Research Agendas (SRA) for our industry with input from other platforms or technology initiatives

• Mobilisation of (financial) resources, improvement of framework conditions and implementation of research programmes (through collaborative projects)

• Continuous review of Strategic Research Agenda, implementation programmes, resource allocations and framework conditions

• Result of 3 internal surveys among Euratex, Textranet & Autex members from Nov. 2004 – May 2005

• Euratex: responses from 8 national associations, 1 European branch

• Textranet: involvement of 20 textile/clothing research centres in 16 countries

• Autex: involvement of 20 universities from 17 countries
