European Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering Award Ceremony
by the European Nuclear Educati on Network Associati on
For the third ti me, the IAEA is hosti ng the European Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering (EMSNE) Award Ceremony of the European Nuclear Educati on Network Associati on (ENEN). Sixteen laureates will receive the EMSNE Diplomas this year. The event is aimed at enhancing cooperati on between the IAEA and ENEN in nuclear educati on, training and research.
ENEN was established in 2003 as a non-profi t organizati on on the basis of the European High Educati on Area by the partners of the European Nuclear Engineering Network project. It is a major actor in the coordinati on of nuclear educati on and training funded by the European Commission. ENEN’s objecti ve is to preserve and further develop experti se in the nuclear fi elds through higher educati on and training. This is realized through co-operati on between universiti es, research organizati ons, regulatory bodies, the industry and other organizati ons involved in the applicati on of nuclear science and ionizing radiati on.
The objecti ve of the European Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering (EMSNE) in parti cular is to develop an internati onal network of nuclear engineers and scienti sts by educati ng students to become analyti cal, resourceful and inventi ve nuclear engineers.
A Practi cal Agreement was signed between the IAEA and ENEN for research, educati on and training in nuclear technology. During the past years, the IAEA has benefi ted from the experience and best practi ces of ENEN and its accreditati on system through shared acti viti es, including its student mobility, sharing of faciliti es, laboratories, curricula, and educati on and training sources.
