Research and development

Ostrołęckie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji Sp. z o.o. [a water treatment plant in Ostrołęka] (OPWiK) has invested EU funds in thermo-modernisation of its building and installation of renewable sources of energy. Works consisted in insulating the walls of the building and the roof over the last floor. The following have been exchanged: roof covering, wooden parts of windows, entrance door. As part of supplementary works, the ventilation system along with the automatics of the ventilation steering room have been modernised. Electricity system has been exchanged, central heating hub switch box and lightning protection system have been installed. A vital element of the project has been the installation of photovoltaic arrays and heat pumps.Beneficiary:

Biomibo business entity managed by Professor Mieczysława Boguś is developing a comprehensive method of identification of biological and chemical contamination in herbal products. The research works have been subsidised by the EU. By dint of this method, there will be the possbility to detect biological contamination such as bacteria and parasite eggs and cysts as well as chemical contamination, for example with aromatic hydrocarbons, dioxines, polychlorinated biphenyl (PBC) and pesticides.

Status quo of the Regional Operational Programme implementation For the Mazovian Voivodeship 2014-2020

TransportationWith the support of the EU funds, the North-West route in Płock has been built with its two stretches: from “Boryszewo” hub in Otolińska Street to “Bielska” hub and from “Bielska” hub to “Długa” hub. In total, more than 4 km of the voivodeship road have been built. It may seem that it is not much but by dint of that investment the availability of Płock has improved significantly. What is more, the project also included the installation of the road lamps, storm sewer system, rebuilding of water supply system, rebuilding of interfering tele-technical devices and energetic grids.

Beneficiary:Centrum Nauki KopernikProject name:“Szkoła bliżej nauki” - creating in 7 communes of the Warsaw Functional District the conditions for teaching based on experiment method by virtue of increasing teachers’ skills and competence with regard to work with the use of experiments, equipping schools with educational sets and tools for teaching science and development of students’ competence with regard to scientific subjects by virtue of implementation of educational and research project, among others.

EU-subsidised project titled: “Szkoła bliżej nauki” [school closer to science] is being implemented by Centrum Nauki Kopernik [Copernicus science centre] (CNK) and 38 schools from Warsaw and its vicinity. The purpose of the project is to create in schools the conditions for teaching with the use of science, elements of research know-how. It is being implemented by virtue of professional training of teachers and due equipment of school rooms. Students develop their IT as well as mathematical and scientific competence and learn cretivity and team work, among others.

Social inclusionEU funds have been supporting the pilot project titled “Z@OPIEKOWANI...” [t@ken care of] who has affected 50 seniors from Warsaw. The participants received tablets, they are also carrying bands with a red button that may be used in the event of risk for life or health and call for help. These bands have been also equipped with fall-detecting sensors, heart-beat monitoring system and reminder to take your medicines. Not only do seniors enjoy a comprehensive care with the use of new technologies assured but they also have acces to regular help of professional custodians. This is how Warsaw wants to take care of lonely seniors, including those who are not capable of leaving their houses or flats.

After many years of oblivion and destruction, the EU funds allowed for restoration of the palace and park complex in Korczew. The facility has undergone conservation works, some necessary equipment for hothouse, theatre room and Norwid room has been bought. The Foundation intends to start in Korczew the initiative titled: “Korczewski Inkubator Kultury” [culture incubator in Korczew]

The Institute of Mother and Child (IMiD) has invested EU funds in the implementation of a modern IT system. The electronic circulation of documents and e-services have been implemented with top maturity degree thanks to which your matters may be handled comprehensively via the tele-medical system. The system includes: e-round, e-registration, collection of e-findings with access to patient’s electronic documents, changing the doctor’s appointment date, e-anamnesis, e-consultation and e-self-control. The purpose is to guarantee effecient services, including those rendered in the following hospitals: SZPZOZ im. Dzieci Warszawy w Dziekanowie Leśnym, SPZOZ w Kołbieli, SPZOZ w Celestynowie oraz SZPZOZ w Wieliszewie.
