Rebel YellBy Noah Chapman and Kayla Kirkland
October 13, 2011 marks the death of Taylor Lynn Buckley, but the miraculous events of Wednes-day prove Taylor still lives on and watches over us.
Wednesday, February 8, 2012, Taylor’s best friend, Magaly Ven-tura, and Taylor’s sister, Laura-beth Milam, both gave birth to healthy baby girls on what would have been Taylor’s 17th birthday.
There is no doubt in our minds that Taylor, looking down from above, had a huge part in these two deliveries. Magaly, Laura-beth and their babies are all doing well, excited to be sharing such an important day together. The babies support Taylor’s name as their middle. The babies also sported pink and zebra striped outfits at the hospital, Taylor’s favorite motif. What could have been a sad day for many turned into a blessing from heaven. Tay-lor Buckley will never be forgot-ten and continues to live-on in our hearts.
MCKENZIE — The Bethel Uni-versity Academic Theatre’s pre-sentation of the family comedy, “Harvey” begins this Thursday, February 16, at Bouldin Audi-torium in the Dickey Fine Arts Building.
“Harvey” is a 1944 play by American playwright Mary Chase. The play’s main charac-ter is Elwood P. Dowd, an affable man who claims to have an un-seen (and presumably imaginary) friend Harvey — whom Elwood describes as a six-foot, three-and-one-half-inch tall pooka resem-bling an anthropomorphic rabbit.
“Harvey” is directed by Marion
Graham, and show dates and times are as follows: Thursday, February 16, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, February 17, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, February 18, at 7:30 p.m.; and Sun-day, February 19 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $7 and are available at the door prior to each perfor-mance. Bethel students, faculty and staff are admitted free. A reception will follow the Thurs-day evening performance and a raffle winner of a giant, stuffed “Harvey” will be announced.
For more information about “Harvey” contact Marion Gra-ham at [email protected].
