TheswingdoordrivemechanismETS42hasbeenexclusivelydesignedforoperatingswingdoors.Anyotherusebeyondtheseapplicationlimitsisdeemedinappropriateandinadmissible!Intheeventofaninappropriateuseofthissystem,thesafetyoftheusermaybejeopardizedand/ortheinstallationbedamaged.Themanufacturerdeclinesallresponsibilityfortheseinju-ries/damages!
2.2 SafetynoticesThepresentinstructionsusesthefollowingsymbolsandnotesinordertopointoutcertainresi-dualdangers:

2.3 Safetyregulations2.3.1 Principles
• Childrenmustnotbeinvolvedinthecleaningorusermaintenanceofthissystem.Veryyoungchildrenmustnotoperatethesystem.Young childrenmustonlyoperatethesystemwhenunder the close supervision of an adult. Olderchildrenandvulnerablepersonsmayusethissys-temsafelyoncetheyhavebeenshown,whileundersuitablesupervision,howtouseitapprop-riately. Highlyvulnerablepersonscanonlyusethesystemsafelywhenunderclosesupervision,orifitisfittedwithcorrespondingadditionalequipmentthatamplyfulfilsthescope-of-usestandardsof the norm EN 16005.
•Theinstallationhasbeencalculated,designedandmanufacturedonthebasisofthelateststate-of-the-arttechnologyandthegenerallyrecognizedsafety-relevantrulesandregulations.Itmayonlybeoperatedifitisinperfectcondition,takingintoaccountthespecificationsofthepresentmanual.Anyusebeyondthedefinedapplicationlimitsisinadmissible!
• Theinstallationistobeoperatedandmaintainedinsuchconditionthatthesafetyisguaranteedatalltimes.Anintegralpartofthisconditionistheappropriateuse,thecompliancewiththeoperatingconditionsprescribedbythemanufacturer,aswellastheregularservice(mainte-nance/checking).
• Inordernottocreateanydangeroussqueezingandshearingpoints,nostructuralmodificationmustbemadewithinthedoorsurroundings,withoutpriorauthorizationfromECO Schulte GmbH&Co.KG.Furthermore,itisimportantthatnoobjects(suchasfurniture,pallets,etc.)beplacedinthevicinityofthedoor.
•Allfurtherinterventionsonandmodificationsoftheinstallationthatarenotdescribedinthepresentinstructionsareforbidden!

•TheswingdoordrivemechanismETS42mayonlybeinstalledandoperatedindryrooms.Ifthisconditioncannotbefulfilled,thecustomermustprovidesufficientprotectionfrommoisture.
2.3.2 Service
Inordertoguaranteethesafetyoftheusersatalltimes,theinstallationmustbecheckedwithregardtoitssafeconditionbeforethefirstcommissioningandduringnormaloperation,at least once a year,byaexpert.Thecorrectmaintenance/checkingmustbeconfirmedbyenteringthedateandsignatureintothecontrolbooklet.
2.3.3 Safety devices
Itisinadmissibletobypass,shuntordisablethesafetydevices.Anydefectivesafetydevicesmaynotbedisconnectedinordertobeabletocontinuetheoperationoftheinstallation.
2.3.4 Malfunctions
Ifanymalfunctionsoccurwhichmightbedetrimentaltothesafetyoftheusers,theinstallationmustbeimmediatelytakenoutofoperation.Itmayonlybetakenbackintooperationafterthemalfunctionhasbeenrepairedandalldangereliminated.
2.3.5 Accessories/Spare parts
Asafeandreliablefunctionoftheinstallationcanonlybeguaranteedifitisoperatedwiththeoriginal ECOSchulteGmbH&Co.KG accessories/spare parts. ECOSchulteGmbH&Co.KG decli-nesallresponsibilityfordamagesresultingfromunauthorizedmodificationsoftheinstallationorfrom the use of foreign accessories/spare parts.
2.3.6 Doorwingsandfixedsidepanels
Transparentsdoorwingsandfixedsidepanels(ortheirsurfaces)mustbeclearlyrecognizable,e.g.bymeansofapermanentmarkingordyedmaterials.
Doorsillsorotherprotrudingelementsofthedoorsystemhavetomemarkedwithawarningstickerorappropriatemarking.

TheswingdoordrivemechanismETS42allowsanautomaticopeningandclosingofswingdoors.Thedoorisopenedeitherautomaticallyormanuallyviathecontrolelements.Theclosingisinitiateduponexpiryoftheprogrammedhold-opentime.IfthePush-and-Gofunctionisenabled,thedoorjustrequiresaslightmanualpushuponwhichthedriveunitcarriesoutanautomaticopeningsequence.
Theoperatingcharacteristicsofthedoorcanbedeterminedviatheprogramselector(selectionoftheoperatingmodes).

3.5 Safety elementsTherequiredsafetyelementsmustbeinstalledinaccordancewiththeEUdirectivesaswellaswiththesafetyregulationsvalidinthecountryofapplication.
Attention:WeadvisetousesafetyelementsfromtheECOproductrange.ECOcannotassumeanyfunctionalguaranteeifelementsfromothersuppliersarebeingused!
Safetysensorsarefittedtoautomatedswingdoorstomonitorandprotecttheirpivotingarea.Theyarefittedtobothsidesofthedoorleaf.Thisguaranteesmaximumprotectionduringbothopening and closing of the door.Basically,theinstructionsofthesensormanufacturermustalwaysbeobservedwhenmountingthesafetysensors!Iftheconnectingwiresofthesafetysensorsarenottin-plated,endsleevesmustbeusedforthestrands!
Function
Inopeningdirection:Movementofthedoorleafstopswheneverthesensordetectsanobstacle.Wallrecognitionofthesafetysensorcanbesuppressed(adjusted).
Inclosingdirection:Thesafetysensorreversesthedrivemechanism,andtheclosingdoor-leafopensoncemore.
3.3 AutomaticclosingsequencecontrolForbi-partinginstallations,twoseparateETS42swingdoordrivemechanismsareused,whichareconnectedviaconnectionterminals.

5 SERVICE5.1 Care/checking to be carried out by the operator
Warning:Disconnecttheinstallationbeforecarryingoutanyworkontheswingdoor!
5.1.1 Switchingoff
• SelecttheoperatingmodeMANUAL or
• Pull out the mains plug.
5.1.2 Care
•Cleanthefloorwithintheareaofthedoorwing.
• Clean the outside of the drive mechanism covering with a moistened rag.
Warning:Donotuserunningwaterorhigh-pressuremachinesforcleaningthedrivemechanism!
Attention:Donotuseanymetalbrushesorchemicalproductsforcleaningtheinstallation!
5.1.3 Checking
Theinstallationmustbecheckedatregularintervals,atleastevery2months(checkingofthedifferentelementsasfarastheseareincludedintheinstallation):
•Whenthedoorwingismovedbyhand,canyouhearanyunusualgrindingorscreechingnoi-ses?
•Checkthefunction,thefreeaccesstoandidentificationoftheemergencystopbutton(optio-nal).
• Check the correct fastening of the drive mechanism covering.
Attention:Pleasecontactimmediatelyyourafter-salesserviceifyoudetectadamageormalfunc-tionthatyoucannotrepairyourself.
5.2 Maintenance/checkingcarriedoutbytheafter-salesservice
Warning:Inordertoguaranteethesafetyoftheusersatalltimes,theinstallationmustbeche-ckedwithregardtoitssafeconditionbeforethefirstcommissioningandduringnormaloperation,at least once a year,byaexpert.Thecorrectmaintenance/checkingmustbeconfirmedbyenteringthedateandsignatureintothecontrolbooklet.
Note:We recommend to conclude a maintenance contract with the manufacturer of the installation,respectivelywithhisauthorizeddistributionpartner.

ThecontrolunitrecognizesvariouserrorsituationsandconditionsanddisplaysthemontheD-BEDIX/KOMBI-D-BEDIXpanelbymeansofanerrornumber.Fatalerrors(doorinstandstill)willbeautomaticallyshownonthedisplaywhentheinstallationisswitchedon.
6.1.2 Carrying out a Reset
BeforecarryingoutaReset,makesuretonotetheerrornumber.
