• Status: working prototype being tested by EMA; requested enhancements being added

• Future Plans:– Find willing partner to work with– Develop methodology for data collection and

maintenance – community involvement– Incorporate various UNGEGN guidelines

• Liaise with UNSD and UNGEGN working group

• Organize training on methodology and tool for member States

• Develop standard national databases

• Future Plans– Consolidate national databases into a

regional database as part of the proposed ARSDI and UNSDI

• Organize a pre-CODIST workshop on geographical names

• If database tool is ready, could be a hands-on training workshop
