2010-now IWT-KMO project: De ontwikkeling van een business casemethodiek voor het opzetten van horizontale logistiekesamenwerking.

Goal of this innovative project is the development of a methodologyto convince shippers through unequivocal business cases of thepotential for horizontal logistics collaboration on specific lanes orpoint-point trajectories or in certain distribution processes. Thisrequires the development of a toolbox enabling the calculation of thetotal logistic (supply chain) costs and carbon footprint of variouslogistic options.

The objectives of this project are to find ways to enhance the growth

of intermodal barge and rail transport. As well as the stimulation ofgrowth, it also important to foresee the limits of their growth. Inorder to do so a Decision support system for intermodal transportpolicy is developed.
