Early morning 4.0 earthquake. All lab areas checked and no damage/spills reported.
8/24/15 Power outage B62 Power outage originally planned. Issues with transformer identified. Power outage prolonged until 8/27/15. B62 currently connected temporarily to B67 power system until transformer is replaced.

Significant Safety Achievements- 8/15• Activity Manager system implementation is complete.
– A total of 103 work activities have been generated for ETA.– 7 work activities remain in EHS collaboration. All relate to ETA lab work that is not yet being
performed.
• The old chemical clean-out in 70-264 has been completed.– Several pieces of equipment were decontaminated prior to salvage.– Remaining chemicals were relocated to other areas.– The CMS inventory has been updated as needed.
• The Glove Box Self Assessment project has been completed and the final report is out for signatures prior to submittal. Two CATS requests were issued to address findings.
• Provided assistance during the B62 power outage. Ensured that equipment was maintained in a safe condition. Coordinated issues identified with EHS.
• A survey was sent out to determine which self assessment projects will be performed in 2016.
• The Chemical Spill Preparedness Self Assessment project has started. A survey has been sent to all lab area workers. A walkthrough is scheduled for 9/3/15.
Short Term Safety Outlook 9/15
• Complete the final 7 Work Activities pending in EHS collaboration. These are for B33 JCESR and 70-291.
• Complete the Lab Area Chemical Spill Preparedness Self-Assessment project. Prepare the final report for submittal.
• Continue to address ETA equipment on the electrical equipment “fail” list
• Complete the set-up for new lab areas B33 JCESR, and B60 air conditioning test chambers.
• Complete and submit the ETA Self Assessment Plan for FY2016.• Complete CATS items identified from glove box self-assessment
project.
