Acute accent (L’ accent aigu) is the most common accent used in written French. It is only used with the letter “e” and appears above it to indicate the quality of the vowel sound represented by the letter “e”.

A liaison is the phenomenon whereby a normally silent consonant at the end of a word is pronounced at the beginning of the word (Vowel) that follows it.
