NatureMountain “Suur Munamägi “(Big Eggmountain)(318 m), which is located in the middle part of Haanja uplands (Võru county), is the highest point in Estonia and other two Baltic countries. On the top of the Suur Munamägi there is an observation tower – the view from 346.7 meters is 50 km in radius.
Tamme-Lauri oak is the thickest oak in Estonia. Its girth is 130 centimetres, height eight metres and it is 680 years old. The hollow in its trunk is filled with an iron framework and eight tons of concrete. Before the hollow was filled there was space for up to seven people. As our greatest primeval tree, Tamme-Lauri oak also adorns the ten-kroon note.
Tuhala nõiakaev
The Tuhala Witch's Well, is famous in Estonia because it can "boil over" after heavy rains or when the snow finally melts. The well happens to be placed just over an underground river, when the volume of water exceeds what the underground river can handle, water comes out of the well. Riverbeds and pools in the area that are otherwise dry are then also filled.
Estonian moneyThe kroon (sign: kr; code: EEK) was the official currency of Estonia for two periods in history: 1928–1940 and 1992 – 31 December 2010. The Euro(sign: €; code: EUR) since 1. Jan. 2011
