Background to study

• Growing importance of supply chain reporting and due diligence in “conflict minerals” supply chains (3TG);

• The anticipated challenges facing SMEs in the automotive, electronics, medical technology and jewellery industries;

• Importance of collectively addressing conflict mineral issue in supply chains.

• Draft recommendations and best practice examples;

• Encourage and inform support for SMEs moving forward.

• What are the business conditions and expectations a new scheme will face?

• What capacity building programme needs to be aimed at both upstream and downstream actors?

• Seeking interviews with SMEs, large-scale companies and industry associations;

• Anonymous, 30 minutes long, via phone or Skype;

• Interview period ends 24th of April;
