When writing a persuasive text, it is vital that you structure your work properly.

There are many different ways to plan prior to writing your essay.

One strategy which is often used is the TEEL acronym.

What is your main point?

Choose a topic which you are confident with.

Example: Romeo and Juliet’s predicament is inevitable.

Explanation

Why is your point important?

Sum up arguments and/or facts.

Use words such as: Therefore, consequently, thus, due to, this means that..

Explain what it means, this convinces the reader further.

Evidence

What is your evidence?

It reinforces your idea in your topic sentence.

The aim is to prove to the reader your point of view.

Show evidence and examples of this issue/statement.

Use interesting quotes/events.

At the end of your writing, link to your prior statement must take place.
