You have taken part in a seminar discussing how schools and universities can help to make the exam period less stressful for students.
Suffering stress during the exam period in schools and, in major terms, in universities
has been the subject of some debate for the last few years. However well the students
think they are dealing with the period of exams, the nearer the exam periods are, the
more the students tend to rack their brains. The following paper will come out with
some important ideas with the aim of looking for some methods in order to help
students with their exam’s periods.
In the first place, there is a need to highlight how tutor’s support can influence to the
students mode in relation to their exams. Practicing and having tutoring hours in which
students are able to be face to face with the tutor is important for their personal
satisfaction in studying and practicing. So, helping students to be confident should be
reinforced by the tutor.
Another idea that should be taken into account is the importance of relaxing time in
the timetables of students, which is out of habit. Having students’ minds relaxed and
far from stress is an important point. Although, myriad of students are against the idea
of enjoying and having different leisure activities in the period of exam, and this idea is
completely wrong.
To conclude with, students, as well as tutors, have to be concern about the importance
of the support between the tutor and the student and the need not to be 24 hours
revising theory for the exams. As more the students are relaxed, the better the results
will be.
