MEANING 'ESPRIT DE CORPS' here means team spirit andteam work. This principle emphasizes on teamwork. 'UNITY IS STRENGTH' is the essence of thisprinciple. Fayol suggested that there should be ateam spirit in the organisation and all theemployees must consider themselves as memberof the organisation. Organizations should striveto promote team spirit and unity.

An example of esprit de corps is a group marchingto bring awareness to a current issue.

THEORIES

The principle of ‘ESPRIT DE CORPS’ isbased on two theories:

i.) Unity is Strength

ii.) Unity of staff is the foundation of successin any organisation

Positive impacts of this principle: Achievement of group goals. Development of team spirit. High morale of employees. Cooperation and coordination in the

organisation.Consequences of violation of this principle: Non-achievement of the organisational
