1969, Apr 18 Espoch was born as an Institute “Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Chimborazo” ITSCH.

1972, May 2 It started its academic activities with just three schools.

1973, Oct 29 ITSCH was converted in an University: “Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo”

1973 – 2013 ESPOCH has created around 30 engineering schools grouped into 7 Faculties offering 37 professional careers and 21 specialization programs.

ESPOCH is placed in Riobamba – Ecuador.

In 2009, ESPOCH is declared as University Class A by an evaluation of CONEA. (11 in total).

From 2010, more than 18.000 students from different locations of Ecuador.

Around 800 professors.

Several conventions and agreements with different Universities and Institutions (both, Nationals and Internationals).

ESPOCH has a great number of students and teachers studying at UNICAL and other Italian Universities.

From 2012 ESPOCH is member of “Red Ecuatoriana de Universidades y Politecnicas para Investigacion y Posgrados”
