WORKSHOP BOOKLET
HELLO THERE!
AGENDA
We are very excited to welcome you at the second edition of the ESN Academy!
This year’s theme is “Peacebuilding through fostering intercultural dialogue” and we will offer you 23 different workshops which you can choose from. Each day you’ll have the opportunity to attend one workshop, which is a total of 4 workshops throughout the 4 days of the Academy. Each day there will be 5 or 6 parallel sessions you can choose from and you can pick your workshops a la carte: choose whatever interests you the most. Workshops will be 3 hours long with a coffee break in the middle, with the exception of Day 2 (workshops B1 to B6), when workshops will be 6 hours long.
You can sign up online through the ERS system until Sunday, 19th of June, 23.59 CEST. Once a workshop is full, we cannot accept more registrations, so once again: first come, first served. If you change your mind along the way you can change your choice by unregistering and registering for a new one (given that there are spots available), but if you don’t sign up until the deadline, we will allocate you to workshops randomly. Please note that there is no possibility of registering to workshops at the event, and there will be no changes allowed.
Looking forward to meet you soon in Szeged and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!

Some call it an ananas and some call it a pineapple, but they’re talking about the same thing. Is there such a thing as “ground truth”? Are there wrongs and rights about one’s culture? In this workshop, we will look into our different backgrounds, and how these
restrict our understanding of the other.
As ESNer, you may want to contribute your grain of sand to make a better Europe for the generations to come. But what else can you do? Erasmus Student Network has grown as the biggest students association in Europe, with a strong voice for institutions and governments. What can ESN do to ensure a better life quality for all europeans and foreigners? What can you do to make this world a better place to live in?
Citizens of the world, assemble! Let’s fight for peace!

If you want to take into account all what an erasmus needs to make the best out of the Erasmus Experience… this is definitely your workshop!

DAY 2
Let the world know you are making peace!
Ines Marjutby &
Workshop B6
You walk over to your neighbors who just moved in recently from outside of the country. You want to discuss the noise they are making at night, but what started as a moment to find a solution end up becoming a catastrophe. Why do they not understand me? Have you tried listening to them? Considered changing your approach? In this workshop we will
discuss all of this and more.
Are we the best at showing the world what we are doing through our daily activities? Are these activities building the foundation for a better Europe? During this workshop we talk about the vision & values of ESN, how are we perceived by different stakeholders and brainstorm on how to change the way we advertise ourselves in order to make it more coherent with our values. We will also build a full communication strategy for some of the most common ESN events… but with a plot twist! Curious already? Join us in letting the world know
you are making peace!

DAY 4
Dutch Treat
Inside/Out of the circle: Social exclusion
Triinu Stephanby &
Workshop D2
Are you lucky enough to live in a bubble?
In this workshop, you will understand how it
is to feel excluded, to be outside of the bubble.
You will also understand the factors
that influence social exclusion
and how ESN can play a role
in building a more inclusive society.
Dutch treat (the oldest form) better known as “Going Dutch” is a term that indicates that each person participating in a group activity pays for themselves, rather than any person paying for anyone else, particularly in a restaurant bill. How do get what you need? What is the best way to approach a conflict of interests in your path? Should we
do it the Dutch way? Find out in this workshop!
