Hello Everyone, We had our first board meeting with the new board last week and I discovered that these guys are not short winded. It was a four hour meeting and the new members came in with great ideas and a lot of enthusiasm. A lot of good suggestions came up and you will hear about them in the near future. Don Brunt came up to finalize his task of inventory of our assets for insurance purposes. This task took Don a long time to do and I want to personally thank him and those who contributed in completing that enormous task. At some point in time, it doesn’t hurt to put a value on what we own. I don’t think Don left any stones unturned. One of the subjects that we covered at the board meeting is the lack of participation to perform range master duties. It seems that we have a few good men! What I mean is, there are a few people who put in a lot of hours at the range and not a whole lot of participation beyond that. As always, we will have a range master’s appreciation day this year but it will be handled a little different. In other words, if you are not showing up to do your duty once a month, we need to have some notification and re- scheduling. There are lots of open hours for you to participate. In other words, we don’t want to see any strangers at the appreciation day. Read your range master’s sound off for more information. I want to close by saying that we are trying new ideas for encouraging people to come up to the general membership meetings. One of the new ideas is that Jeff and Linda are preparing a quick meal for us. The cost is very low and any profits go directly to the club. We have been having great turnouts lately and we just want to make the trip more worthwhile for you. Hello Everyone,

We had our first board meeting with the new board last week and I discovered that these guys are not short winded. It was a

four hour meeting and the new members came in with great ideas and a lot of enthusiasm.

In other words, if you are not showing up to do your duty once a month, we need to have some notification and re-scheduling.

Thanks everyone,

Denny

RANGE RULES & ETIQUETTE

Always check to make sure everyone is back from down range before calling “Range is hot.”

Every person on the shooting pad at the rifle and pistol range must have eye and ear protection.

Always put your target frame away and clean your shooting area when through shooting.

This is a game refuge. Do not shoot any mammals or birds on the property.

HUNTING SEASON IS CLOSER THAN YOU THINKNow is the time to sight in/practice with that rifle or bring your bird gun and shoot trap. You cannot practice too much. The more you shoot before the season, the better you will do.

SHOOT THE MONTHLY HI-POWER RIFLE MATCHThis is a four position, all slow fire rifle match. This is excellent practice for deer season. Any center fire rifle with any sight is allowed. You will not only improve your shooting, but you will have fun. Call Dave Premetz at 760-489-1082 for the particulars.

SIGN UP FOR HUNTER SAFETYTake Hunter Safety now. Don’t wait until the last minute (the classes fill up as Hunting Season approaches). Every year we have hunters in a panic. The season has started and they or their son/daughter haven’t taken Hunter Safety.

EF&GA HAS MEMBERSHIPS AVAILABLEAdult membership is available. Call Donna (760-735-9496) and ask for an application for your friends or relatives. Applications are also available at www.escondidofishandgame.com

RANGE MASTERS NEEDEDThis is your chance to give back to EF&GA. Sign up for one or two shifts per month. If the range is not busy, you may shoot while you do Range Master duty. Range Masters contribute greatly to range safety and house keeping. Call ray Bucholz to volunteer or to obtain information @ 760-741-0668.

WOULD YOU LIKE AN M-1 GARAND?They are available from the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). Shoot a National Match Course (NMC) and you can qualify to buy on from the CMP. The NMC is offered on the first Sunday with every other month being sanctioned. For more information on how to qualify, call Kevin Miller @ 760-489-7267. EF&GA has M-I Garands that you can fire for the qualification.
