DRIVER INFORMATION CENTERYour vehicle’sDriverInformationCenter (DIC)providesvehicleinformation,vehiclewarningmessages andvehicle featurecustomization.The DICmessages willbe shown onyour instrument panel cluster display.To operate the DIC, the ignitionswitch must be on.

DIC ButtonsThe DIC buttons are located on theleft side of the audio system.

(Trip/Fuel): Press this button todisplay the odometer, trip odometer,fuel range, average economy, fuelused, timer, and transmissiontemperature.

(Vehicle Information): Pressthis button to display the oil life,display units, tire pressure and tirepressure system programming, andRemote Keyless Entry programming.

(Customization): Press thisbutton to customize certain vehiclefeatures to your preference. (SeeVehicle Customization Settings.)

(Set/Reset): Press this button toset or reset certain vehicle functionsas well as acknowledge DICmessages.

Warnings and MessagesThe DIC provides vehicle messages(depending on optional equipment)as well as warnings if a problem issensed. To acknowledge a messageand clear it from the display, pressany of the DIC buttons. Some urgentmessages cannot be cleared from theDIC display.

If you have a current OnStarsubscription and a warning messageappears, press the blue OnStarbutton to speak to an OnStarAdvisor. OnStar Advisors can accesscertain diagnostic information andcan tell you how serious thecondition is and what you shoulddo about it.

Safety & SecurityREMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY

The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)transmitter includes the followingfunctions:

(Remote Start): Press this buttonto start the engine. (See RemoteVehicle Start.)

(Lock): Press this button to lock allthe doors. If enabled through theDriver Information Center (DIC), theparking lamps will flash once and/orthe horn will chirp to indicate lockinghas occurred.

(Unlock): Press this button tounlock the driver’s door. If the buttonis pressed again within five seconds,all remaining doors will unlock. Ifenabled through the DIC, the parkinglamps will flash once to indicateunlocking has occurred.

(Liftglass): Press and hold thisbutton to open the liftglass.

(Power Liftgate): Press and holdthis button to open or close thepower liftgate. The taillamps will flashand a chime will sound to indicatethe liftgate is activated.

(Vehicle Locator/PanicAlarm): Press and release this buttonto locate your vehicle. The parkinglamps will flash and the horn willsound three times. Press and hold the button to activatethe panic alarm. The parking lampswill flash and the horn will sound for30 seconds. Press the button againor turn the ignition to Run to cancelthe panic alarm.

The OnStar system provides in-vehicle safety, security and phoneservices, available 24 hours a day,7 days a week. These services areeasily accessed through the threeOnStar buttons in your vehicle. • Press the blue OnStar button to

connect to an OnStar Advisor forservices such as GM Goodwrenchremote diagnostics or routing andlocation assistance.*

• Press the white Phone button toaccess OnStar Personal Calling, ahands-free, voice-activated phoneservice.**

ComfortPOWER SEAT CONTROLS

The power seat controls for the driverand front passenger seats are locatedon the outboard side of the seats. Power Seat: Use the control (A) tomove the seat forward/rearward andup/down as well as to raise/lowerthe front or rear of the seat cushion.Power Recline: Use the control (B)to recline/raise the seatback.Power Lumbar: Use the control (C)to increase/decrease lumbar supportand to raise/lower the height of thesupport.

HEATED AND COOLED SEATSFront Seats

The heated, and cooled (if equipped),front seat controls are located on theclimate control panel.

(Heated Seat/Seatback): Pressthis button to turn on the heated seatcushion and seatback.

(Heated Seatback): Press thisbutton to turn on the heatedseatback.

(Cooled Seat/Seatback) (ifequipped): Press this button to turnon the cooled seat cushion andseatback.Continue to press and release thedesired button to cycle through thetemperature settings of High (threeindicator lights), Medium (twoindicator lights), Low (one indicatorlight) and Off (all indicator lightsare off).

2nd-Row SeatsThe heated rear seat controls arelocated on the back of the floorconsole.

(Heated Seat): Press this buttonto turn on the heated seat and cyclethrough the three temperaturesettings.

ADJUSTABLE PEDALS

The accelerator and brake pedalscan be adjusted to a comfortable andsafe operating position by using theswitch located on the center consolebelow the climate controls.Press the left arrow on the switchto move the pedals away from youand the right arrow on the switch tomove the pedals toward you.The pedals cannot be adjusted whenthe vehicle is in Reverse or whencruise control is activated. Pedalposition will be stored with vehiclememory.

AUTOMATIC CLIMATECONTROLS

The automatic climate control systemmaintains the desired individualtemperature for the driver and frontseat passenger. The systemautomatically adjusts the airflowmode, fan speed, air conditioningand recirculation functions to reachthe set temperature(s) as quickly aspossible.Automatic OperationTo set the automatic mode:1. Press the AUTO button.2. Set the driver’s and front

passenger’s temperature usingthe temperature knobs.

Manual OperationTo operate the system manually,use the following controls:

(On/Off): Press the temperatureknobs to turn the driver’s and frontpassenger’s system on or off.Temperature Control: Rotate thetemperature knobs to raise or lowerthe driver’s and front passenger’stemperature settings.

(Fan): Press the up or downarrow to increase or decrease fan

speed.(Mode): Press the up or downarrow to change the direction of

the airflow as well as to select thedefog mode.

(Recirculation): Press thisbutton to recirculate inside airthrough the vehicle. This mode keepsoutside air from entering the vehicle.

(Air Conditioning): Press thisbutton to turn the air conditioningsystem on or off.

AUX (Rear Climate Control): Pressthis button to turn the rear climatecontrol system on or off.

(Defrost): Press this button todirect most of the airflow to thewindshield.

(Rear Window Defogger):Press this button to activate therear window defogger and theheated outside rearview mirrors. Thedefogger and heated mirrors will shutoff automatically or can be turned offby pressing the button again.

REAR CABIN CLIMATECONTROLS

The rear temperature can be adjustedby using either the front climatecontrols on the instrument panel orthe rear seat climate control panel onthe back of the floor console.To control the rear temperature fromthe front, press the AUX button (theindicator light will illuminate). Thetemperature will be the same as thedriver’s set temperature. Rearpassengers can turn on and controlthe rear seat climate control whenany rear panel button is pressed.

Your Escalade audio system includesthe following features:

(Power/Volume): Press thisknob to turn the system on or off.Turn the knob to adjust the volume.

(Tune): Turn this knob to selectradio stations. Press this knob toenter the radio main menu andaccess functions such as toneadjustment, speaker fade/balanceand equalization settings.BAND: Press this button to selectAM, FM1, FM2, XM1 or XM2.SRCE (Source): Press this button toswitch to AM, FM, XM, DVD audio,DVD Rear Seat Entertainment, or CDplayer operation. CONFIG (Configuration): Press thisbutton to display the systemconfiguration menu.

(Scan): Press the double arrowbutton to scan radio stations. Pressand hold the button for two seconds(a beep will sound) to scan presetstations. Press the button again tostop scanning.

(Seek): Press the left or rightarrow button to go to the previous ornext radio station or, when a CD isplaying, to the start of the currenttrack or MP3 file, or to the next trackor MP3 file.

Configurable Radio Display KeysThe four keys located on each side ofthe radio display can be customizedto make it easier to access commonlyused radio features. To program theconfigurable keys:1. Press the CONFIG button.2. Turn the Tune knob to select

Setup, and then press the knob.3. Turn the Tune knob to select

Configure Display Keys, and thenpress the knob.

4. Turn the Tune knob to select oneof the keys, and then press theknob. The currently assignedfeature is shown.

5. Turn the Tune knob to select thefeature to program to the key, andthen press the knob. The displaywill show the new feature next tothe key.

6. Repeat the steps for each key.

Setting Preset Radio StationsBefore setting your preset stations,shift the vehicle into Park.

To preset stations:1. Turn on the radio.2. Press the BAND button to select

AM, FM1, FM2, XM1 or XM2.3. Tune in the desired radio station.4. Press and hold one of the six

numbered pushbuttons until abeep sounds.

5. Repeat the steps for eachpushbutton on each band.

Setting the TimeTo set the time:1. Press the CONFIG button.2. Turn the Tune knob until Set Clock

is displayed.3. Press the Tune knob to select the

Set Clock function.4. Turn the Tune knob to adjust the

time.5. Press the Tune knob to set the

currently displayed time.MP3 CapabilityYour audio system has MP3 playingcapability. A CD-R containing MP3audio tracks will play automaticallywhen inserted into the CD player.Radio Data SystemWhen you tune in a Radio DataSystem (RDS) station, the stationname, call letters and program namemay appear on the display instead ofthe frequency. RDS features are available for useonly on FM stations that broadcastRDS information. RDS relies onreceiving specific information fromthese stations and will work onlywhen the information is available.

Note: Choosing to engage in extendedsearching for specific audio stations orsongs by using buttons and knobs — or togive extended attention to entertainmenttasks — can lead you to look away fromthe road frequently or longer than usual.Looking away from the road for prolongedperiods may cause you to miss seeingthings on the road that you need to see.Be sure to keep your eyes on the road andmind on the drive — and avoid engagingin extended searching for specific itemswhile driving.

MULTIPLE-DISC CD PLAYERTo load CDs:• Press and release the (Load)

button to load one CD. Wait forthe display prompt before loadingthe CD.

• Press and hold the button fortwo seconds to load up to six CDs.Wait for the display prompt beforeloading each CD. The CD playerwill time out when it does notreceive any more CDs.

To play a specific CD:• Press the F1 (Down) or F2 (Up)

pushbutton to select the desiredCD. The CD will begin to playautomatically.

To eject CDs:• To eject the CD that is currently

playing, press the (Eject)button once.

• To eject all CDs, press and holdthe button for two seconds.

If a CD is not removed after severalseconds, it will automatically bepulled back into the player.

TOUCH SCREEN NAVIGATIONENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM(if equipped)Your vehicle’s NavigationEntertainment System provides youwith detailed maps of most majorhighways and roads throughout theUnited States. After you enter adestination, the system providesturn-by-turn instructions for reachingyour destination. In addition, thesystem can help you locate a varietyof points of interest, such as banks,airports, restaurants and more.

Setting the TimeTo adjust the clock:1. Press the CONFIG button.2. Touch the Clock Display screen

button.3. Touch the + or – screen button to

adjust the hour and minutes.Setting Preset Radio StationsPress the CONFIG button to select upto six pages for favorite radiostations. On each page, up to fivestations of any band (AM, FM or XM)can be preset using the five screenbuttons on the radio display.To preset radio stations:1. Press the AUDIO button.2. Touch the AM, FM, or XM screen

button.3. Select the desired radio station.4. Touch and hold the numbered

Note: CDs with any affixed labels may jamin the CD player. Label a CD using apermanent marker. If more than one CDis inserted into the slot at one time, or ifscratched or damaged CDs are played, theCD player could be damaged. REAR SEAT AUDIO

The Rear Seat Audio (RSA) systemallows front seat and rear seatpassengers to listen to differententertainment sources at the sametime. The vehicle’s rear speakers willbe muted when the rear controlpanel is turned on.

(On/Off): Press this button toturn the system on or off.Volume: Turn the left knob to adjustthe volume of the left headphonejack and the right knob to adjust thevolume of the right headphone jack(headphones not included).SRCE (Source): Press this button toselect an entertainment source —AM, FM, XM, CD, DVD or RSE(if equipped).

(Seek): Press the right or leftarrow button to go to the next orprevious radio station.PROG (Program): Press this button tocycle through preset radio stations.

DVD REAR SEATENTERTAINMENT (if equipped)The Escalade Rear Seat Entertainment(RSE) system includes a flip-downvideo screen, two wireless 2-channelheadphones and a remote control.The Escalade ESV RSE systemincludes two flip-down screens (2ndand 3rd row), four wireless 2-channelheadphones and a remote control.The DVD player is part of the frontradio. The system can be controlledusing the radio buttons or theremote control.

To play a DVD:1. Turn on the ignition.2. Push the release button on the

DVD overhead display console andpull down the video screen.

3. Insert a DVD into the DVD slot inthe radio. It will turn on the videoscreen and begin playingautomatically. It may be necessaryto press the Play pushbutton onthe radio or the remote control tostart playing the movie if the DVDstops at a menu screen.

4. To listen to the DVD through thevehicle speakers, press the SRCE(Source) button on the radio untilRSE is on the screen. Adjustvolume using the radio volumecontrol.To listen to the DVD through theheadphones, select channel 1 onthe headphones and push thepower button on the headphones.Adjust volume using theheadphone volume control.

To listen to a Rear Seat Audiosource, select channel 2.

5. To control DVD playback, use theremote control or the front radiobuttons.

6. To turn off the RSE system, pressthe power button for two secondson the front radio, eject the DVDor press the power button on theremote control.

Driver Control of the Audio SystemThe driver has basic control of thewhole audio system. Press and holdthe Power knob for more than twoseconds to turn off the radio, RearSeat Audio and Rear SeatEntertainment systems.

Note: Aim the remote control at the videoscreen, not the DVD player, for properoperation.

ConvenienceMEMORY SETTINGSThe memorybuttons arelocated on thedriver’s door.Settings can beprogrammedfor the driver’sseat, outsidemirrors and theadjustable pedals for two drivers.To save memory settings:1. Adjust the driver’s seat, outside

mirrors and pedals to acomfortable position.

2. Press and hold button 1 or 2 untiltwo beeps sound.

Repeat these steps for a seconddriver.To recall the settings, press memorybutton 1 or 2 with the vehicle in Park.If the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)transmitter is used to enter thevehicle and the memory seat recallfeature is turned on in the DIC (seeVehicle Customization Settings), thesettings will be recalled automatically.

Easy-Exit SeatThe (Easy-Exit) button is locatedbetween the two memory buttons. Ifthe easy-exit feature is turned on inthe DIC (see Vehicle CustomizationSettings), the driver’s seat willautomatically move rearward apredetermined amount when the keyis removed from the ignition. Tomove the seat back completely,press the Easy-Exit button.

VEHICLE CUSTOMIZATIONSETTINGSA variety of your vehicle’s featurescan be customized to yourpreference through the DriverInformation Center. To customizefeatures:1. With the vehicle in Park, turn on

the ignition.2. Repeatedly press and release the

(Customization) button todisplay available customizationfeatures.

3. With the desired customizationfeature displayed, press the (Set/Reset) button to access thefeature settings.

4. Repeatedly press and release thebutton to scroll through the

available settings.5. With the desired setting displayed,

press the button to select it.6. To exit the Feature Settings menu,

press the button until EXITFEATURE SETTINGS is displayedand then press the button, orpress the button or button.

REMOTE VEHICLE STARTThis feature allows you to start theengine from outside the vehicle byusing the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)transmitter. (Remote Vehicle Starttransmitter range is approximately200 feet, with the vehicle in a directline of sight.)After a remote start, the engine willrun for about 10 minutes beforeturning itself off, but can beextended 10 minutes by performinganother remote start sequence at anytime. After two consecutive remotestarts, no additional remote starts areallowed until the vehicle has beenstarted with the ignition key. The vehicle’s climate control systemwill automatically heat or cool thevehicle interior to 74°F, and adjustthe airflow to the defrost or ventmode depending on ambientconditions.

Note: The two RKE transmitters arespecifically synchronized to either memorybutton 1 or 2. If the correct memorysettings are not recalled, try using theother RKE transmitter.

Starting the VehicleTo remote start the vehicle:1. Aim the RKE transmitter at the

vehicle.2. Press and release the (Lock)

button on the transmitter.3. Immediately press and hold the

(Remote Vehicle Start) buttonfor about four seconds.

4. When the vehicle starts, theparking lamps will light andremain on while the engine isrunning.

5. Repeat these steps for a 10-minutetime extension.

When you enter the vehicle after aremote start, the key must beinserted in the ignition and turned tothe Run position before driving.

Canceling a Remote Start If you wish to turn off the engineinstead of driving after a remotestart, perform one of the followingfunctions:• Press and hold the button until

the parking lamps turn off.• Press and release the Hazard

Warning Flashers button inside thevehicle. Press the button again toturn off the flashers.

• Turn the key in the ignition switchon and then off.

• The engine will automatically stopwhen time expires.

AUTO TURN SIGNALThe turn signal lever includes anautomatic lane change signal feature.To signal a lane change, raise orlower the lever until the arrow on theinstrument panel cluster starts toflash, and then release the lever. Theturn signal will automatically flashthree times. If the Tow/Haul modeis selected, the turn signal willautomatically flash six times.To signal a turn, move the lever allthe way up or down.

INTELLIBEAM AUTOMATICHEADLAMPS (if equipped)IntelliBeam uses a digital light sensorbehind the inside rearview mirror tomaximize forward night vision. Thesystem automatically switches on thehigh-beam headlamps when no othervehicle traffic is present, and switchesto low beam intensity when theheadlamps or taillamps of othervehicles are detected. The systemoperates only when driving over20 mph.The system is turned onautomatically when the headlampsystem is set to AUTO and the turnsignal/multifunction lever is in thelow beam position.To turn off the system, pressand hold the (AutoHeadlamps) button on the insiderearview mirror for three seconds.Press the button again to turn thesystem back on.

Note: The Remote Vehicle Start featurewill not operate if the key is in theignition, a door or the hood is open, orthe Check Engine light is illuminated onthe instrument panel cluster.

Your vehicle is equipped with anAutomatic Headlamp System, whichautomatically turns on the DaytimeRunning Lamps (DRL) during the dayand the headlamps and other exteriorlamps at night or when necessary.The system uses a light sensor,located on top of the instrumentpanel, to determine light conditions.For proper system operation, avoidplacing any objects on or near thesensor.

Exterior Lamp ControlsThe exterior lamps also can beoperated manually using the controlknob located on the left side of theinstrument panel. The knob can berotated to the following positions:

(Off): Turns off the AutomaticHeadlamp System, including theDaytime Running Lamps.AUTO (Automatic Mode): Turns onthe Automatic Headlamp System atnight or when necessary.

(Parking Lamps): Turns on theparking lamps and taillamps.

(Headlamps): Turns on theheadlamps and other exterior lamps.Additional lamp controls include:

(Dome Lamp Override): Pressthis button to turn the dome lampson or off when the doors are open.

(Instrument Panel Brightness):Turn this knob to adjust thebrightness of the instrument panellights.

(Fog Lamps): Press this button toturn the fog lamps on or off.

CRUISE CONTROLThe cruise controlbuttons are locatedon the steeringwheel.

(On/Off): Pressthis button to turnthe cruise controlsystem on or off. – SET (Set): Pressthis button to seta speed, or todecrease the speedif the system is set.Tapping the button decreases thespeed in 1-mph increments. Whenthe cruise control speed is set, thecruise light will illuminate in theinstrument cluster.+ RES (Resume): Press this button toresume a set speed, or to increasethe speed if the system is set.Tapping the button increases thespeed in 1-mph increments.

(Cancel): Press this button tocancel the cruise control but retainthe set speed in memory.

RAINSENSE™ II WINDSHIELDWIPERSThe Rainsense II windshield wipersuse a sensor to automatically operatethe wipers when needed, dependingon driving conditions and thesensitivity setting. If the system isleft on for long periods, an occasionalwipe may occur without any moistureon the windshield to indicate thesystem is activated.The headlamps also will be turned onautomatically when the Rainsensewipers are active if the exterior lampcontrol switch is in the AUTO position.

Windshield Wiper ControlsThe windshield wiper control bandand the rear wiper switch are locatedon the multifunction stalk on the leftside of the steering column. The

control band can be rotated to thefollowing settings:

(Mist): Activates one wipe.(Off): Turns wipers off.

(Rainsense Sensitivity Levels):The position closest to Off is thelowest sensitivity level, which allowsmore moisture to collect on thewindshield between wipes.

(Low): Activates wipers at lowspeed setting.

(High): Activates wipers at highspeed setting.

(Washer Fluid): Push the paddleon top of the lever to spray washerfluid on the windshield.

HEATED WINDSHIELD WASHERFLUIDThe heatedwindshieldwasher fluidsystem canhelp clear ice,tree sap andbugs from thewindshield. Press the (Heated Washer Fluid)button, located below the climatecontrols on the instrument panel,

to start four automatic heatedwash/wipe/pause cycles. A light onthe button will flash while the washerfluid is heating, which may take upto 40 seconds. The remainingcleaning cycles may take about 20seconds to occur.To cancel any remaining cycles, pressthe button again.

UNIVERSAL HOME REMOTE Located in the overhead console,the Universal Home Remote is acombined universal transmitter andreceiver that can activate up to threedevices, such as garage dooropeners, entry door locks, gates andsecurity systems.It’s recommended that you read theinstructions in your Owner Manualcompletely before attempting toprogram any of the three channelson the Universal Home Remote. Theengine should be turned off whenprogramming the remote.

REAR VISION CAMERA (if equipped)

The rear vision camera displays a viewof the area behind the vehicle on thenavigation screen when the vehicle isshifted into Reverse. Once shifted outof Reverse, the navigation screen willreturn to the last screen displayedafter approximately 10 seconds.To turn the camera and symbols onor off:1. Shift into Park.2. With the Navigation system on,

press the CONFIG button.3. Touch the Display screen button.4. Touch the Rear Camera Options

screen button.5. Touch the Video and/or Symbols

screen button. To clean the camera lens, locatedabove the license plate, rinse it withwater and wipe it with a soft cloth.

ULTRASONIC REAR PARKINGASSISTThis feature uses ultrasonic sensorson the rear bumpers to help youavoid colliding with objects whenparking the vehicle. It operates onlyat speeds less than 3 mph.The rear parking assist display islocated near the rear window andprovides the following indicators:• At 5 ft. (1.5 m), a chime sounds

and a light illuminates.• At 40 in. (1.0 m), two lights

illuminate.• At 20 in. (0.5 m), a continuous

chime sounds and all three lightsilluminate.

• At 12 in. (0.3 m), a continuouschime sounds and all three lightsflash.

To disable the system, press the (Rear Parking Assist) disable buttonlocated on the right side of the audiosystem. The indicator light willilluminate when the system is off.Press the button again to turn thesystem back on.

SUNROOF (if equipped)The open/closeand ventswitches for thepower sunroofare located onthe overheadconsole. Theopen/close switch has two detentsfor manual and express operation.Express-Open/Close the SunroofFully press the (Express-Open) orthe (Express-Close) side of thisswitch to express-open or express-close the sunroof. To stop thesunroof, press the switch again.To partially open or close thesunroof, lightly press and hold therear or front of the switch (to the firstdetent) until the sunroof reaches thedesired position.Vent the SunroofPress the (Vent) side of this switchto vent the sunroof. Press the switchagain to stop the sunroof.Press and hold the (Close) side ofthe switch to close the sunroof.

POWER RUNNING BOARDS(if equipped)The power running boards extendfrom beneath the vehicle when anyside door is open. The vehicle mustbe stationary for the running boardsto operate. To disable the runningboards, press the (RunningBoards) disable button on theinstrument panel. Press the buttonagain to turn the running boardsback on.

FOLDING 2ND-ROW SEATS

The 2nd-row seats fold and tumbleto provide more cargo space andaccess to the 3rd-row seats.To fold and tumble the seat:1. Make sure nothing is under or in

front of the seat.

2. Fold the seatback forward by liftingthe release lever located on theoutboard side of the seat.

3. Tumble the seat forward by liftingthe release lever again.

To unfold the seat:1. Pull down the seat until it latches

to the floor.2. Lift up the seatback until it locks

in place. Pull on the seatback tomake sure it is locked.

Power Release Seats (if equipped)To fold andtumble thepower releaseseat:1. Shift the

vehicle intoPark.

2. Make sure nothing is under or infront of the seat.

3. Press one of the automatic releasebuttons, located on the overheadconsole or on the panel behind therear doors. The seat will fold andtumble forward automatically.

The seat must be unfolded manuallyto return it to the sitting position.

FOLDING 3RD-ROW SEATSThe split rear seats fold and tumbleor can be removed to provide morecargo space.To fold and tumble the seat:1. Make sure nothing is in front of

the seat.2. Fold the seatback forward by lifting

the release lever (A) located at thebottom rear of the seatback on theoutboard side of the seat.

3. Tumble the seat forward by liftingthe release lever (B) located to theleft of the handle (C) on the centerrear of the seat.

4. Tilt the seat fully forward and lockit in place.

To unfold the seat:1. Lower the seat by lifting the

release lever (B) located to the leftof the handle on the center rear ofthe seat.

2. Pull down the seat until it latchesto the floor.

3. Lift up the seatback until it locksin place. Pull on the seatback tomake sure it is locked.

To remove a seat:1. Fold the seatback forward by lifting

the release lever (A) located at thebottom rear of the seatback on theoutboard side of the seat.

2. Pull rearward using the handle (C)on the center rear of the seat.

POWER LIFTGATE ANDLIFTGLASS OPERATION

Power LiftgateUse the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)transmitter or the power door lockswitches to unlock the liftgate. There are several ways to open andclose the power liftgate:• Press and hold the (Power

Liftgate) button on the RKEtransmitter until the liftgate startsmoving.

• Press the touchpad (A) on theinside surface of the liftgate handleto open.

• Press the button on the bottomedge of the liftgate to close.

• Press the button on theoverhead console inside thevehicle.

To turn off the power liftgatefunction, press the (PowerLiftgate Off) switch on the overheadconsole.LiftglassThere are two ways to unlatch theliftglass:• Press the touchpad (B) on the

liftgate, located above the rightside of the license plate.

• Press the (Liftglass) buttonon the RKE transmitter.

Performance &Maintenance6-SPEED AUTOMATICTRANSMISSION CONTROLS

The 6-speed automatic transmissionhas a unique gear range selectionmode called Driver Shift Control thatenables the driver to select the rangeof gears desired for the currentdriving conditions, such as whendriving on downhill grades.To use this feature, move the shiftlever to the Manual (M) position andselect a lower or higher driving gearusing the + / – button on the shiftlever. The display on the instrumentpanel cluster will show the currentgear selection.

Press the – (minus) side of the buttonto downshift. When slowing to astop, the vehicle will automaticallydownshift.Press the + (plus) side of the buttonto upshift. As vehicle speedincreases, you will need to manuallyupshift. If current vehicle speed is too high ortoo low for the requested gear, theshift will not occur.

STABILITRAK® – STABILITYCONTROL SYSTEM

StabiliTrak is an advanced computer-controlled vehicle stability andtraction enhancement system thatassists with directional control of the

vehicle in difficult driving conditions.It turns on automatically every timeyou start your vehicle.To limit wheelspin and help maintaindirectional control, you shouldalways leave the system on. If yourvehicle becomes stuck and rockingthe vehicle is required, the systemshould be turned off.Press the (StabiliTrak) button,located on the right side of theaudio system, to turn off the tractioncontrol part of the system. Pressand hold the button for five secondsto turn off the traction control andstability enhancement systems.When the system is turned off,the StabiliTrak indicator light willilluminate in the instrument panelcluster.Press the button again to turnthe system back on.

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORThe Tire Pressure Monitor alertsyou when a significant reductionin pressure occurs in one or moreof your vehicle’s tires by illuminatingthe (Low Tire Pressure) warninglight on the instrument panel. Thelow tire pressure warning lightwill remain on until you correctthe tire pressure. A CHECK TIREPRESSURE message may also appearon the DIC. Correcting the Tire PressureWhen the low tire pressure warninglight illuminates, you must fill the tireto the proper tire inflation pressure.The Tire and Loading Informationlabel on the driver’s door shows thecorrect inflation pressure for the tireswhen they’re cold. “Cold” meansyour vehicle has been sitting for atleast three hours or driven no morethan one mile.

You can temporarily remove the DICmessage by acknowledging it withyour DIC controls. However, at thenext vehicle startup, the DICmessage will reappear if the tirepressure has not been corrected.You may notice during coolerconditions that the low tire pressurewarning light will appear when thevehicle is first started and then turnoff as you start to drive the vehicle.This could be an early indicator thatyour tire pressures are getting lowand need to be inflated to the properpressure.

RESETTING THE ENGINE OIL LIFESYSTEMThe Oil Life System calculates engineoil life based on vehicle use anddisplays CHANGE ENGINE OIL in theDriver Information Center (DIC) whenit’s necessary to change your engineoil and filter. The Oil Life Systemshould be reset to 100% onlyfollowing an oil change.To reset the Oil Life System:1. Turn on the ignition.2. Press the (Vehicle

Information) button until the DICdisplays OIL LIFE REMAINING.

3. Press and hold the (Set/Reset)button until 100% is displayed.

4. Turn off the ignition.Refer to your Owner Manual forfurther information.
