Welcome to the Erskine Green Training Institute . . . where dreams of employment for people with

disabilities begin. A one-of-kind postsecondary

program and lab, the Institute provides vocational

training for a variety of jobs in the hotel, food service

and healthcare environments. It, along with its

attached 150-room Courtyard Muncie at Horizon

Convention Center hotel, is an immersive learning

environment.

The growing

demands of

hospitality and

related industries

require a trained

and qualified

workforce.

The Institute

is poised

to meet that need

by providing hands-on learning opportunities for

people with disabilities. Our goal is to give individuals

who are ready, willing and able to work, skills that

they can take back to employers in their home

communities.

Community LivingStudents will live at the Courtyard Muncie and train at

either the hotel, Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co. or IU

Health Ball Memorial Hospital while they complete the

program. Supervised evening and weekend stays and

outings are part of the well-rounded activities offered.

To enhance their independent living experience,

students will learn how to utilize public transportation

to access all that the Muncie community has to offer:

the public library, shopping centers, local college

sporting events, museums and more.

CurriculumThe curriculum, under development with Courtyard

Muncie, IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and

Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co., plans for intensive,

multi-week sessions that focus on specific areas of

study. Professional instructors deliver both course

instruction as well as hands-on training and internship

opportunities allowing students to gain valuable

employment experience.

Students will have the opportunity to select

coursework in areas that best suit their experience,

skill set and interests, whether in food service,

hospitality or healthcare support.

Courses are expected to begin in January, 2016,

and will be multi-week, full-day sessions, Monday

through Friday, with weekends included for building

independent living skills. Look for more details at
